Great, inexpensive gift. Ships with a syringe and instructions for customizing it just the way you like. I removed the black seal, inserted the syringe and removed all the bubbles. After that it was functioned perfectly and was very beautiful to look at. Mine had black and grey sand with a beautiful hint of copper.

Aesthetically pleasing
Overall Iโm happy with the purchase, it looks sleek, especially when itโs not moving, great piece to display. Then one downside, probably the biggest one is that most of the time it doesnโt do the intended purpose. When you flip it the sand just falls down in huge clumps instead of slowly trickling down. Great buy for the money though.

And almost 4 years later
Bought this for myself with Christmas money I received and to this day (almost 4 years later) I still flip it in the morning as I drink my coffee (yeah I know, exciting morning - I'm retired) and see the mountain scene it creates. Actually my grandkids get a kick out of seeing the design appear. I have had to use the syringe to adjust the air because that does affect the way the sand falls

Doesn't work well at all
Doesn't work well, too many bubbles! I messed with this for hours and tried to remove bubbles and "added" air and it never did anything different or removed bubbles or formed cool formations. It would go super slow or really fast and sometimes just drop in clumps and it always was on one side or the other. The gold never mixed in. I'm assuming it would be beautiful if it did what it was supposed to do but I'll be returning. I gave it 3 stars only bc it arrived in timely manner, sand is pretty and if I wanted an etch a sketch it would be awesome to shake and see the pretty swirling sand lol. So unfortunately it's going back since it does not do what it's supposed to do. I do not recommend.

Very poorly put together/designed. Regardless of air put in or taken out, it has bubbles in it and always looks wonky. Took down off my desk and put in a drawer. Might just throw out!
