Gifts & Decor Wood Log Cabin Tree Bird House/Feeder

I read all the customer reviews before buying this so was prepared for anything.....The cardboard box it came in had a thin'ish "made in China/Taiwan" look to it that probably wouldn't hold up as well to being shipped by itself, but because it came inside a bigger box with several other items that'd been ordered, all was fine.Feeder (and that really is all it is, but that's all I'd wanted it for anyway) came in perfect shape, nothing amiss, broken, or missing. It's doubled hanging string - either jute or hemp - was attached a little crookedly on one side - minor fix of just taking the off-one over a little bit. If *that's* all that was wrong, it's definitely not a deal breaker, especially for the price!! :-) As per customer reviews, it's little brass hinges are stapled on with some pretty tough-looking staples, which I can see possibly loosening up at some point in time so will be prepared with some little screws to replace when that does start happening. The big half-log part of it's roof that the hinges are attached to are well more than plenty enough to hold them being screwed into!And again in accordance to customer reviews about some leeriness of this feeder's holding up to how much weathering, I was prepared to and did immediately give every inch of it's unfinished wood 3 good coats of clear acrylic, inside & out. I mean, with the price of this absolutely adorable thing, why not just be prepared to do what it takes to make it a little "better", right? Pays like crazy to read customer reviews! :-)

I’m using these for a different purpose than what they are intended for. I’m beyond happy and excited with the construction of this little house I surprised my daughter by hiding it in her fairy garden. She loves it. I love that I can add little things to it, because of the little base underneath of it. I added dried moss to it to try and make it look like it just grew into the landscape. It’s awesome and I love it.(It’s super sturdy and I think it would work well as the purpose it was meant for, as well.)

This item is sold as a Bird House / Bird Feeder but I'd be filling it every few hours given the large number of birds that visit here.Instead, with a bit more decoration (little bits of green lichen, vines and flowers) I've made it into a Fairy House for my Fairy Garden. I have a fairy climbing the wooden ladder, one climbing the vine on the side, one sitting up on the ledge and one napping inside (one side of the roof lifts, so you can position a fairy figure in there along with one of the battery-operated tea candles for light shining through the windows. On the base I've put more lichen / moss and have a fairy sitting down with a deer and some squirrels around it. It's charming!And much less expensive than brand-name actual fairy houses of this size.

So this thing isn't like the picture. The walls aren't bark covered, it's coconut fibers. Also the roof doesn't have bark like in the picture, and the "rails" of the feeder also doesn't have a bark look. Fortunately I was planning to use it for a craft idea. So ya, it's not exactly as pictured.Also I included a picture of the work I did on it as a bonus

Cute birdhouse but not very stable. We have strong winds in our backyard and it didn't last long. It fell down and into pieces within 2 months.

I am actually not using this as a bird feeder. I hid it in my bushes to surprise my granddaughters with a fairy house. It makes a very believable fairy house. They were absolutely delighted.

I had this sent to my parents to wrap for my grandma for Christmas. My mom told me the top arrived broken. However they were able to fix it in time for Christmas. My grandpa apparently loved it and is excited to use it in her garden. My husband and I searched Amazon for bird feeders and fell in love with this design. It is very charming! Hopefully they remain in one piece for others who order them. It certainly isn't a disappointing gift to open (so long as it's in tact)

When I ordered this one, I was thinking at first, it was just another bird house and just too cute to not get.When it arrived, to my surprise, it was a feeder! Love it even more.This one is so very cute, I just couldn't bring myself to put it out, so I have it in my living room, as it just fits me and what I do, to a "T" on so many levels.I have had more comments and compliments on this little house, than I did the bird figurines sitting right next to it. LOL!!It is just adoreable!
