I started looking for a product like this after my college-aged daughter burnt the heck out of her hand on her curling iron.After reading the reviews on a number of gloves I decided to try this pair.What I discovered is that these gloves fit her delicate hands as well as my large mom-hands. To test their effectiveness I let my curling iron heat up and then I 'grabbed' the heated barrel. I felt heat begin to build in the gloves but there was plenty of time to pull my hand away.Which is to say that these aren't oven gloves. You're not going to be able to grab a 450F degree casserole dish and carry it to the dining room. But you are going to be able to keep your hands safe because they give you time to put the curling iron down if you've lost control of it.
