Works great, but it's bigger than a regular outlet and the power gets split with two things plugged in
Like many, I loved the idea of having direct to USB charging without having an extra device hanging off of an outlet. I've been using this for about six months, and I can safely say that it fits the bill. However, you need to bear two things in mind:1) This outlet is quite a bit bigger than a regular outlet. The electronics to transform the voltage and the actual USB receptables are essentially bolted on to a regular outlet. This means that you need to be sure that your outlet box has plenty of space. I ended up having to buy a replacement gang box. This is more involved than simply replacing an outlet, so make sure you do your measurements and are prepared to do this work or get someone to do it for you2) The power to each of the outlets is not independent. What I mean by that is that if you have two devices plugged in for charging, the power to each one is less than if just one is plugged in. This means that your devices will charge more slowly when two are plugged in vs. one. This is not an issue if you just need immediate power, but if you are trying to charge something as quickly as possible, make sure it's the only thing plugged in. Note that this does NOT mean that you won't be getting adequate voltage when two items are plugged in, just that they will charge more slowly.Overall, I think this is a great addition to a modern household and I definitely recommend it. I gave it only four stars because of the complexity that can come with installation, but it functions flawlessly.

Awesome outlet!
Love this outlet. I have many devices that use a USB charger and this outlet definitely serves its purpose! As others reviewers have noted, the receptacle is larger (wider and deeper) than a "normal" receptacle, so I knew to expect that before purchasing. However, I did not have any trouble getting it to fit into my wall space (and my house is 85 years old). So, with a little patience and trimming down unnecessarily long wires, it works perfectly! This receptacle now frees up the 2 outlets near my couch since the USB cords that used to fill the outlets can now be plugged into the dedicated USB ports. I decided to go with this product over similar products because (1) it has the 2 regular outlets plus the 2 USB ports and (2) it has the function to save energy by shutting down the power after the device is charged. I haven't been able to monitor reason #2, but since I am often charging devices, it seems like a great thing! Also, I bought the product as a Warehouse Deal and it appears to be brand new so the products and savings are great!

Great little item but just barely fit
I saw one of these on facebook and thought it seemed very practical for a family such as ours with electronics all over the house being charged through USB. I bought one and installed it. It just barely fit in our outlet box. I had to cram the wires back in but I eventually got them in there. It works great and looks great. No problems. Nice item.I see the price has gone up since I bought mine for $22.45.Update: I just bought a second unit (April, 2013) and it is a completely different design. The part number is still ACE-7702 but the USB jacks are now on opposite sides of the outlet (both used to be on one side). The unit is now smaller and wiring terminals are much more accessible. That is all good news. These should be easier to install now.

Works fine, installation was OK
Tired of all of the chargers lying on the kitchen island, I decided to get an outlet with USB outlets. Since we use small kitchen appliances we did not want to compromise losing regular outlets, so this was a great find. The only complaint is that it is a bigger unit than the outlet we were replacing, which means we needed to replace the box. SInce I only realized this when halfway in, it was a pain. Of course that is as much my issue as it is the products. The USB, and traditional outlets work great. The USBs are able to fairly rapidly charge our iPhones, iPads and iPods.

Almost perfect
Concept is great. Execution is almost perfect, but I had two minor issues:1) The box is big. You won't be able to replace an old outlet with this. I had to put it on a different wall than I originally planned to. For smaller spaces, this one (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007NC5GI4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01) is better.2) It won't charge a BlackBerry without a special non-data cable (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004A8OMLQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00). The FastMac support people were able to diagnose the problem, but I think this is a flaw in the outlet, since I can plug in a standard USB cable into my other charging devices such as my generic USB car charger or any iphone wall adapter without a problem.

frees up your sockets
This replacement electrical outlet is as easy to install as any other and charges an ipad as quickly as a dedicated charger. Excellent use at bedside. I just plug in a couple of little usb to 31-pin connector cords and push them down out of the way until I'm ready to give some device a nightly boost. It frees up your sockets but don't get the idea that it looks any neater than having a couple of fat chargers hanging limpet-like from the walls. I would install this somewhere out of sight: behind a desk, under a piece of furniture.

Excellent
It works exactly as described. I have two devices plugged into the regular AC plugs, and one into the USB port, no problems. 2.4amps to the USB, so it can meet the monstrous ipad charging needs/demands. It was a little tricky installing, in part due to the deeper profile, but also due to the placement of the AC and ground screws on the backside. If you've never installed an AC jack, don't start here, otherwise, just give yourself a little extra time to install it safely. I am planning on buying more.

Very pleased
Fairly big, but not as hefty as other reviews make this out. Its about twice as deep as a standard two plug outlet, so you're not going to have TONS of extra space in the junction box. However, I had one of the typical blue plastic 1-gang boxes, and had no problem stuffing this and the rest of the wires back in.Charges my phone, and looks nice and neat. Very pleased with the purchase.Wish there were options for faceplates in different styles for this, but I suppose thats what my dremmel is for.
