Dye Paint for Leather Shoes and Bags with Sponge and Brush, Kaps Super Color, 70 Colors (101 - White)

I ordered the kit that came with the primer but returned it because the brown was not the shade I was looking for. This one came without the primer but as the shoes were new they weren’t dirty. Not sure if it would have covered better if I had used the primer or not. As you can see from the photos I had gold shoes ( that I bought on sale) that I wanted to change to a dark brown. The gold had a metallic sheen which I think made it harder. It says to brush on dye with the included brush around seems. Being a sandal this is pretty much the entire shoe. Luckily I had pre stuffed the sandals with paper. While painting the first shoe I did get a spot on the soul of the shoe. I managed to get most of it off with a Q-tip. So next I made sure that the paper fully covered the soul where I would be painting. The first coat covered but was rather splotchy, the second coat was much better but I could still see brushstrokes. For the third coat I cut the sponge that came in the kit into a smaller section and was able to paint a smooth finish. The whole process took less than an hour and I was super happy with the result. The final photo is of the shoes 24 hours later. Tips: 1. Paper the surface you will be painting on. 2. Stuff sandals with paper making sure to cover any area you want to avoid dye. 3. For thin straps it would have helped to have a smaller brush. It washes out easily if you want to use one you have. 4. The supplied sponge is great for not leaving brush marks. Cut it if you need to paint small or difficult to reach areas.

Patience is needed for this type of dye. I followed the directions to a "T" for the first coat of dye to my shoes. The color was to light and some of the white from the shoe was still showing. I let it dry completely and attempted a second coat. I was completely unhappy with how blotchy the second coat came out. I did the second coat exactly the same application as the first, with the sponge that was included in the box. The second coat was HORRIBLE, it had streaks, dark spots and runs. I let this coat dry and decided I would try one more coat. When I applied the third coat I used the brush that was included in the box all over the shoe. After letting the third coat dry these shoes were BEAUTIFUL. So many people complimented the color of these shoes, stating they have never seen such a color of purple before. They said the shoes looked expensive and couldn't believe I was letting my daughter run around in them. I highly recommend this brand of dye for the proper type of leather shoes and I HIGHLY recommend this company, they are fantastic to deal with.

I bought A great pair of Birkenstocks but the color was very boring. I tried This dye and now I live My Birk’s! So many compliments on this color.

Very good paint that covers well and dries fast

I used this to color a bench darker. It was easy to use, but I let it dry overnight and this morning the paint wipes right off. Not ideal for a dining bench.

I had a new pair of synthetic lizard skin shoes in wine, that I wanted black. I tried the grocery store shoe dye, about 5 layers, and all I could get was a kind of wine/brown/black, not a true black. I got this dye, even though some of the reviews were negative. I wiped the shoes with alcohol as instructed, since I didn't have the prep liquid, and that didn't seem to do any harm to the surface. I painted the shoes, one good coat, with extra emphasis at the top edges to get in the crevices, and let them dry. They look wonderful! Didn't seem to do any harm at all to the underlying material, still see the lizard texture, still have a nice sheen. Also, easy to clean the brush, and also the smears on my formica counter and on my hands (I'm not the neatest....) with water. I was completely satisfied with the results.

I reviewed the black dye set by the same manufacturer. The white dye needs at least 2 coats and you MUST shake the bottle really well to get the color dispersed evenly.

Used this on my leather Keens. Dries quickly and took 2 coats to cover fully. Reuse renew.

Die Kaps Super Color Lederfarbe hat bei mir sehr gute Ergebnisse geliefert. Die Farbe lässt sich gleichmäßig und problemlos auf Naturleder auftragen und deckt gut – auch bei größeren Flächen. Die Farbabgabe ist kräftig und das Ergebnis wirkt professionell, ohne Streifen oder unschöne Übergänge. Nach dem Trocknen fühlt sich die Oberfläche weich an und bleibt flexibel, ohne zu kleben oder brüchig zu werden. Insgesamt bin ich mit der Lederfarbe sehr zufrieden. Sie ist einfach anzuwenden, liefert ein schönes Farbergebnis und eignet sich ideal zur Auffrischung oder zum Umfärben von Lederartikeln.

The color is very easy to apply and goes on smoothly. I used it to repair a pair of sandals that had gotten quite damaged and also to touch up a silver leather bag that I had scratched deeply. Maybe it’s better with a couple of coats. The results were exactly what I expected — the color matched well and the repairs look neat. It’s also easy to clean off the brush and your hands afterward. Overall very satisfied! I will buy it again.
