Works well and is beefy for security
We got our spare tire stolen off our boat trailer while it was parked at Lake Powell. We were looking for another way to secure the new spare. Here is the new spare tire with 1/2 x 6 inch lug screws and nuts. There’s a second locknut screwed on top so they don’t wiggle out. And the spare tire lock that goes around all of it to the frame. It fits very nicely and appears to be thick and well-made. The determined thief would be able to cut it off, but they would likely move onto the next one because this thing is nice and beefy. Unreal we even have to worry about this with a spare tire. 😭

Fits 2023 Toyota Tacoma
The installation was pretty simple. The length was sufficient to allow wrapping over the frame on my 2023 Toyota Tacoma. At first I was concerned it would drop through the lug hole after driving & vibrating, but it has stayed coiled in the wheel. Came with 2 keys. One goes in the jack tool bag. The other my key ring. Great deterrent for spare tire theft.

Strong, Secure, and Works as Advertised
This spare tire lock does exactly what it promises. It secures both the tire and the bracket, giving me peace of mind that everything is protected. The heavy-duty braided steel cable feels solid and tamper-resistant, and I like that it loops securely around the frame for added security. The weather-proof cap is a nice touch and keeps the lock mechanism in good shape, even in rough conditions. Easy to use, well built, and reliable works exactly as advertised. What more do you want? Highly recommend!

So far so good
Using this on my 03 Mitsubishi montero. It’s been on my car for about a year now and is still holding up. It’s still in great shape, no wear and tear. The install is very simple. The thickness of the cord is pretty good.

Fits 2004 Honda CR-V, but not as intended
The intended use is to put it through the lug nut hole. However, with the way the spare tire mounts on a 2004 Honda CRV this is not possible as the open lug nut holes are blocked by the mounting bracket. Here is how I was able to get it to work without a bunch of slack cable so it fits nice and tight. With the tire off you can see at the side of the bracket near the top there is just enough room to slip the cable through. Start on left side and thread behind top of left side slit over to behind top right side slit coming out and pulling out so even amount of cable is hanging out of left an right side slits. Now put tire on bracket pushing it flush against bracket. (You may have to put lug nuts on to hold it flush). I have the alloy wheel. I took the left cable and pulled it through the thinner gap in wheel spokes - there is just enough room to get it through. Do the same thing on the right side. Now join the two in the middle and lock it. It will be tight, but it can be done. If for some reason there was not enough slack you could either pull it through the left side of bracket only or work something out with top or bottom holes in bracket. You would probably just have a little more slack in the cable. The other option would be to drill a hole through the bracket where a open lug nut hole lines up and make the hole the same size. I believe this lock will work nicely.

TRY THIS
I think this lock is terrific. I have a Master receiver lock on my truck, and ran into the corrosion issue. It has a rubber cap as well, and it kept slipping off. I could still open it with the key (barely). I flushed it with WD and then added a few drops of key lubricant (lasts longer than WD). I then put just a bit of synthetic grease over the key entry, closed the cap and placed it in the small size GLAD freezer bag and zip tied it. after 5 years it is still a snap to open it. This lock got the same attention when I installed it.

Seems strong enough
Only had the item for about a month and can't really give it a 5 star rating as I don't know how it will work in the long run and if the lock will continue to operate. It seems really strong and the lock works fine but time will tell. At this moment would buy again but depending on why I need to buy again depends on whether I would.
