Kinda pricey, but works well
Kinda pricey (>$30) for what it is (a brass valve), but when you need it, you need it.Had one of these under the kitchen sink for hot water to sink and dishwasher. Over time, the rubber/elastomer washers inside became hardened and the valves were essentially stuck open. When I changed out the kitchen sink faucet, I had to shut off water to the entire house so figured I might as well change this out too. Changing out the valve is pretty easy and there are plenty of YouTube videos that'll show you how.Found out after I'd done the swap that BrassCraft sells a stem repair kit that has replacement washers (BrassCraft BCSR01 Multi Turn Valve Stem Repair Kit) (https://www.amazon.com/BrassCraft-BCSR01-Multi-Valve-Repair/dp/B00N19O3TQ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=DSA5JJL4QL9S&keywords=brasscraft+valve+stem+repair+kit&qid=1577205425&sprefix=brasscraft+valve+%2Caps%2C150&sr=8-1). They're actually cheaper at Home Depot (about $3 each).I repaired the old valve and then used it at girlfriend's house to replace her old undersink valve, which had the same issue.TBH, if I had to do it over again, I'd look for a valve with 1/4 turn ball valves to avoid the issue of washer degradation.

Easy install for more control.
Replaced a single valve with this double valve to separate my faucet and ice maker. Easy to replace. Now I have more control if something goes wrong.
