I bought this Under the Weather gel for my 15 year old cat with jaundice. Since she's been feeling bad, her appetite has not been as good as normal. However, not only does she love the gel, I'm pretty sure it also made her feel a bit better by relieving her dehydration a little. She's been peeing a lot so I'm sure she's low on electrolytes, which is the original reason I gave this gel a try. She's also lot a lot of weight and this is helping her get some extra calories in her. Sadly it's not curing her jaundice, but it's at least treating dangerous side effects of it.ALSO, because the gel is sticky and gummy, it's great for hiding small pills. I've been hiding her steroid pill inside a dollop of it and she usually swallows it down.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Mr. Kain was unfortunately surrendered some time before his 7th birthday. He lost a lot of weight and was very boney when I adopted him. He didn't have much of an appetite unfortunately either. I purchased this after finding out there is an animal version of calorie gel. He is a picky eater and refused it outright so I mixed it in with wet food. He obligated and ate *some* but some is better than none. After about a week, his appetite started to return but he mainly wanted kibble and not wet food. With a bit of argument and a truce, I agreed to give kibble mixed with treats ONLY after he has a serving of wet food and eats it all. I believe we are going on three weeks now and his spine doesn't feel as prominent. I will say that I did forgo the gel the week prior to cycle the gel. I want him to gain weight but not overload him. Hopefully in about a month, he will develop a nice, soft layer of fat to thicken him up. He thinks he's he's getting spoiled with treats when the plan is to get some chub all along. Silly man. ❤️

This literally saved my cats LIFE. He's 17 and all of the sudden just stopped eating and drinking. Where normally he is always at my feet wanting food. He went from that to not eating for 5 days. I was trying to squirt water in his mouth because I could see and feel how dehydrated he was. At his age I wasn't about to take him to a vet because the stress of that alone would have killed him. My 16 year old kitty had been throwing up hard food for weeks, so we stopped giving to her. The only thing she would eat and not throw up was tuna water. So tuna fish with extra water in it. She was good for several months and they she started to get sick again. She was below 8lbs. We took her to a vet several times and they wanted to do an ultrasound that was going to cost over $3k. We can’t afford that so they just said to make her comfy. Well when she spent two days throwing up and refusing to eat anything including her treats I was like well maybe this is it. Maybe it’s her time. I scheduled the appt to put her down. They had an opening in two weeks. I was on amazon looking for stuff to help her and I came across this. She won’t lick it from my fingers so I put it on her favorite vitamin treats. I make a little sandwich out of the treats and give her 4. It’s so crazy. She is actually eating again. My older cat absolutely loves this — she’ll lunge for the dispenser the second she sees it. I started giving her Under The Weather Ready Cal when she was slowing down and eating less, and it’s made a real difference. She’s perked up, put a little weight back on, and seems to have more energy. It’s easy to use, she enjoys the taste, and I like knowing it’s full of good nutrients.
