This mortar and pestle is solid, well-made, and has a nice weight to it. The marble feels sturdy and grinds herbs, spices, and pills smoothly without slipping. I really like the small bowl size—it’s perfect for everyday use and easy to clean. Packaging was secure and the product arrived exactly as described. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend it.

I bought this mortar to primarily grind dry spices more finely after using my electric spice grinder. It works really well after dry rice seasoning. It seems to crush dried herbs pretty easily. It's a great size for small to medium jobs. Its weight is relatively heavy compared to other marble mortars, but the weight is comparable to marble blocks. The extra weight in the pestle helps with grinding so there's less effort on our part. It's a great value for its cost and marble quality. It arrived well packaged and in new condition without damage. Worth a try.

I LOVE to make Chia and use this for crushing the cardamom and ginger. It is the perfect size for this use and small enough it doesn't take much room either on the counter or in a drawer. It is well made from marble and very nice to look at as well. The weight of the marble is very helpful in keeping it stable while using the pestle. I would definitely buy another for a gift and would highly recommend it for for all your herbs and spices when needed. Really a good price as well.

This little mortar and pestle set is great. We have to regularly grind small amounts of seeds for a food allergy program that my daughter is in, and these work perfect for that. My kids have a fun time helping. The design is also really pretty and looks good on the counter.

This is much heavier and larger than I thought. It's good quality, sturdy and works well. But it is a bit hard to use do to the size and weight. Texture is smooth, but this is more for larger ingredients.

Nice compact and heavy.

Very nice sized set. I was looking for something larger and this is a mid range size. I like making my own adobo sauce, curry pastes, and building flavor profiles. I consider it a staple in my kitchen and this did not disappoint. I’m still looking for an extra large one however. However this will work for most any recipe and it’s well made. Lovely!!

This is bigger than I had sort of visualized it. I like it anyway. It's about as big as bowling ball and weighs approx. 15 lbs. or 17Kg without the two pestles. The bowl is raised by a base (or pedestal) about 1-1/2" (about 4 cm). If it did not have this base it would be difficult to pick up. The polished outside is a very dark, almost black, green. The rougher inside is a lighter grayish green with hundreds of darker splotches. It will make a nice addition to your kitchen. Do not expect to put it on a flimsy shelf.
