Little bit smaller than expected, but generally wery good.

Couldn’t recommend this knife more. Been using it as my EDC for the past few years and it awesome. Love the spring like opening, stays sharp, thin profile and light weight. Carry this over my benchmade blades 👍🏽

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: I’ve carried this knife for a few days now, and it’s seen light EDC use. The factory edge is wicked sharp! Fit and finish is excellent; the grinds are even, blade centering is perfect, and lock up is rock solid, around 75-80%. I prefer frame locks over liner locks, but this one is excellent for its intended use. The textured fiberglass reinforced nylon handle is quite economic and provides excellent grip! It fits my large hands just as well as my girlfriend’s small ones. Obviously the 420HC of the base models isn’t a super steel, but if you want an upgrade, you have the option.The only thing I’m not ecstatic about is the pocket clip. On the basic versions it is NOT deep carry. Mine also has some side-to-side play, but it hasn’t affected the function at all. As I hinted at, the upgraded version has a deep carry clip.Overall, this is a fantastic value, especially for being made in the USA! I don’t know how Kershaw does it! Even at $40, this is so worth it, but I caught this at $18.90. I had buy 3 more for that steal!

I’m a huge fan of Kershaw knives. I’ve been collecting knives for more than 30 years now. I also forge my own knives, so I like to think I know what makes a good knife. Kershaw knives as a whole are great knives. They are well made using quality materials, ergonomic, they are designed well, and they are aesthetically appealing. They’re also quite affordable compared to other brands. I saw this knife in a knife store in San Francisco and thought it was pretty cool, but they wanted $150 for it. When my family and I go to San Francisco (pier 39) we often go to this little knife store that usually has all the latest knives that have come out. I’ve gotten in the habit of taking pictures of the ones I like, then once I get home I find them online for a better price. This knife was no exception. The knife has two different types of steel used for the blade. A harder steel on the cutting edge and a softer steel on the spine using Kershaw’s patented process which not only adds function, but also looks really cool. The action of the assisted opening mechanism is very smooth, fast, and works without fail. The handle is slim, sleek, and it fits well in the hand. I always have a pocket knife on me and I switch them out regularly, but lately I’ve been caring this knife on me for a while. I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for a quality knife.

This is one of my favorite pocketknives and definitely my favorite flipper. Although many don't, I love Kershaw's assisted flipper system. The knife shoots open every time like an automatic with very little pressure. Being left handed, I couldn't one hand close this knife with the right handed frame lock if I wanted to, so I don't that this won't gravity close. Even if I did care, the action on opening is so great it doesn't matter about the close. The knife is very light, the blade is surprisingly well ground and sharp, and the handles are really grippy. A+ for this knife lover.

I have been looking for a really good American made EDC (every day carry) knife. I did some research and was drawn to the newer Gerber Fastball, which I bought, hated due to defects, and returned the day after I received it. A bunch of reviewers suggested the Kershaw Dividend, so I ordered it with low expectations based on it's less than $100 price point, and my recent experience with the American made Gerber. The Kershaw arrived and I scrutinized it to the same extent that I did the horrible Gerber Fastball. I was super happy with this Kershaw knife's performance and craftsmanship. All the issues I had with the Gerber Fastball were nonexistent. The Kershaw Dividend exhibited zero flaws in metallurgy, the blade is perfectly centered with no play in any direction when open, the lock mechanism is competent but not too aggressive and easy to release, the blade edge grind is even on both sides, and speed of opening seems faster than the Gerber as well. Thank you to all those that suggested this knife and I would strongly recommend this knife to anyone wanting a daily EDC knife. I'm very happy with this Kershaw knife, and for under $40 and American made, my search is over.
