Used successfully to break up some large boulders in the garden.Did require some hard work to drill the holes to accept the grout but got there in the end.

My boulder was nearly 4ft tall and couldn't be budged. Just wanted it out of my way. The rock was bigger than the photos depicts. The jackhammer couldn't touch it. I was just trying to move it out of the way. I was skeptical, but curious, so I mixed the batter, poured the mix into the 1.5in holes that we drilled to about 15in deep. (That was the hardest part, actually). The info provided said we 'could' see results in possibly 2 to 4 hours, but it was 24 before I saw the first hairline crack, it was just a very small hairline crack, so I thought my skepticism was well founded, but when I took a peek after 48 hours I was pretty shocked to see the results. The rock split into nearly one inch wide cracks in three places and then was easy to break apart. Kind of blew me away actually. Would highly recommend this product and there are plenty of YouTube video's showing this compound in action! I selected the 20 to 50 degree product and was not able to find the the powder locally. Amazon came to the rescue.

This stuff is incredible. I was skeptical at first but am very pleased. Tried it on a basketball sized rock in an annoying place on the driveway before I do my big project. Drilled a 4” deep x1 1/8” hole hoping to just blow the cap off the rock so I wouldn’t hit it with the tractor while snowblowing. Came back next day and it was in three chunks! Very pleased. Note that instructions recommend pouring it first thing in the morning, so it has a chance to work during its “critical eight hours“ during the heat of the day.I was too cheap to buy a 1 1/2” bit, got the 1 1/8” for half the price. Seems to be working fine in the limestone I am dealing with.VERY HAPPY with this product. It is allowing me to turn a skidder trail into a road passable by cars and minivans. I have fractured a couple rocks and carefully blown the top 8” slab off others just by changing my techniques. WISH I NEW ABOUT THIS STUFF YEARS AGO!?!?! I was seriously blown away by how well Dexpan Expansive Demolition Grout worked! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but even with just half-inch drilled holes, it still managed to split the rock apart with ease.Pros:✅ Works Even with Small Holes – I only drilled ½-inch holes, and to my surprise, Dexpan still did the job. I thought I might need larger holes, but this stuff proved me wrong!✅ Completely Silent & Controlled – Unlike using jackhammers or explosives, this method is completely non-explosive, making it a great option for controlled demolition.✅ Doesn’t Require Heavy Machinery – If you don’t want to deal with expensive equipment, this is an excellent alternative. Works Amazing. Be sure to order the right temperature for your location. The shadows of trees will slow down the process. Still worked great but took a bit longer to crack. Real easy to use, be ready you have to work quickly. Starts to thicken up quick. We used it for ledge pokers in the grass. Worked on granite. Over all does what it’s supposed to do. Definitely recommend.
