I recently purchased this garden square spade, and I’m extremely pleased with its performance. The spade’s robust construction makes it ideal for digging and turning soil. Very well made and durable.

This is a very well constructed spade. The handle is big enough to fit both hands on it and the shaft is teardrop-shaped for strength. It is very rigid. The blade is not as sharp as some I've seen but, it did the trick for me quite nicely! The tabs on the top of the blade are just big enough to get a sure footing for jumping on it to dig down deeply. Very nice!

I recently purchased this edging shovel and have been using it to tidy up my lawn and garden. Overall, I'm pleased with its performance, but I do want to share some observations to help set realistic expectations. First, the shovel and its packaging arrived in good condition, with the tool well-protected from damage during shipping. The edging shovel itself feels very sturdy and well-balanced, making it comfortable to use for extended periods. The edging results are good, but as with any new tool, it does take some practice to get the hang of it. Don't expect perfect edges right away, but with a bit of patience and technique, you'll get the desired results. One area for improvement is the handle's plastic components, which don't quite match the quality of the rest of the shovel. While the handle's durability is still good, I worry that the plastics might be more prone to wear and tear over time. I've been careful to store the shovel out of direct sunlight, so I haven't personally experienced any issues with fading. However, I've read that this can be a problem for some users, so it's worth considering if you plan to store the shovel in a sunny area. Despite these minor drawbacks, I'm happy with the shovel's performance and would recommend it to others. If you're in the market for a reliable edging shovel and are willing to put in a bit of practice to get the best results, this tool is definitely worth considering.

I was digging up Liriope plants to thin them out and plant them in another bed. The soil is mostly clay so it not easy digging. I was using a name brand spade from the Orange Box store and when I had dug under the root ball pushed down hard on the handle to lever the plant out. Instead of moving the root ball up, the spade blade split in the middle at the point where it was attached to the handle. That put and end to the task for the day and I decided to give the Fiskars spade a try as I had a previous good experiences with other garden tools made by them. I was not expecting a huge difference but did I get surprised. With the Fiskars spade, it took me about 5 minutes to pull up the same Liriope plant that had broken my old spade. I was able to pull up 8 more plants in a few minuted per plant and replant with no problems. The blade is noticeably thicker than other spades and the angle of the blade in relation to the handle works well. The entire spade/handle is heavy duty steel and does not have any "give" when digging and using it as a lever to pull up rooted/bulb plants.

I needed a shovel to excavate my grass so that I could put in a garden. With a lot of manual labor, this is the right shovel for the job. It does it better than other shapes of shovels I tried. Its flat edge cuts grass like lasagna into manageable squares and, with some effort, scoops the sod up as I transition from vertical cuts to horizontal scraping of the earth. It cuts through the roots with some effort. I've owned it for a couple of months, so I can't speak about its durability over time. So far, the quality of its construction has impressed me. I've used it enough to find it sturdy in how it's built. If I'm wrong in the long term, I'll amend my comments.

We got really thick ice this year. My neighbors couldn't break through it with their plastic shovels. Some were using pick axes and wood cutting axes to break the ice. This shovel really came in handy to shovel out my driveway and help out neighbors. Will definitely always have one of these laying around.

OMG, love this spade/shovel. So comfortable and reasonably light weight. Absolutely love the shoe tread compared to other brands.

So far so good. I got fed up with breaking hands with other garden tools so thought I’d give this one a good and really like it. There is no flex when working with it and is light weight. I will be buying my products of this brand as the build quality is good.

This tool is amazing for edging the gardens or taking the top layer off the ground. It’s easy to use, but it also requires talent which I’m still working on. It’s sturdy and comfortable to use.

This spade is expensive as it is shipped from the states, however I think it is worth the money as is is fairly light weight but very sturdy. My wife likes it also.

Just received this in the mail today. Have not put it to use yet but its a good height/length for a square shovel and its built properly and has nice weight to it. It does feel like a lifetime shovel BUT the handle does look like something that could potentially down the line break off which isnt that bad cause those are easily replaced. The rest of it is built solid like unbreakable pretty sure its all welded together as one unit which is fantastic. I am a landscape contractor hope to use this shovel to edge garden beds with
