The truth behind this bar, photos included.
The real story on this bar. Just to be clear, there are about three different versions of this bar floating around in the comments. What you actually get is a $39 three piece bar that is not suitable for adding a hundred pounds. In my case they even sent me a used one. The little roll pins they want you to use to assemble your bar, yes you have to put it together, it comes in three equal sections, were smashed in the ends from installation and removal. See my pics before you decide to buy this disaster of a bar. Beginner to advanced, there could not be a worse item to buy than this one. The seller will return it because he knows he is running a scam but won't cover the cost of shipping which makes it wash if you do return it. Stay away my friends... Stay far away.

Bar WILL bend
Only use if you DO NOT go over 200 lbs!The grips and appearance are fantastic, but the longevity and weight capacity are some of the wosrt I have ever seen.Had 3 in the gym, all are bent beyond use.

Good value, when it finally arrived.
Cost: Honestly, I was surprised to discover this at this price point on Amazon Prime. I was worried that I was misreading the fine print and would find my self with maybe a 7mm bar instead of a full size 7ft olympic bar. Nope, when it showed up (more on that later), it was the real deal.Quality: Another concern, would this thing, at this good of a price point, be worth anything? So far so good. The most weight I have put on the bar and picked up is 315 (please no judgments on how much I can deadlift). No issues with the bar handling that weight. The bar is full spec, everything is the right place and it works as it should. I think it is a good deal.Shipping: So, this is the first time that I ran into a problem with Amazon's shipping. I cannot help but wonder if it is because they realized they were shipping a 45lb bar for free. They had to lose money on that. Anyway, this shipped directly from Amazon and the first issue was that the 2-day shipping turned into 5. Then I was notified that the shipment was lost and I could re-order or cancel the order (I think they were maybe hoping that I would cancel). I stuck to my guns and reordered. All in all, it took about two weeks for the bar to arrive. When it did arrive, the box was very, very tattered. However, didn't really matter because it was a steel bar. They probably could have just thrown it in the UPS truck without any box at all.Happy with the purchase, not the shipping.

Bar bends
If there was an option for less stars I would give it. The bar we received was bent. This raises a quality and safety issue to me.If the bar bends what’s to say it won’t bend while in use even further.I would not suggest you buy this product.

3 piece - Not at all like the picture
Buyer beware - This bar came in a package about 2 1/2 feet long. It was a in 3 pieces. It came with little metal nails that punch into a thicker middle tube to connect it to the outer bars. I have never seen a bar like this and I hope I never do again. I don't think it is safe and again it is certainly not what anyone could/would expect from the pictures and reviews. It was a waste of money and I'm not a hater that usually comments on anything. I'm shocked this is not mentioned in the reviews I saw.

If You Want to Save Money, Buy This Barbell
This is the best Olympic barbell out on the market for the money. So far I've deadlifted up to 240lb (I'm a newer lifter) with it with zero issues. It's sturdy, swivels like butter, looks good, and best of all, it's able to lift weights (according to its specs, it claims to be able to lift up to 500lb; I have not yet been strong enough to confirm this yet, though based on the way it feels, I believe it). The grip on it is good, and as it advertises, I would say it is in fact "medium grip". It's certainly not slippery, but I've felt some much more aggressive grip patterns. It's a very good all-around feel, but at times I find my grip getting a bit loose during the ends of my sets, though that is mostly due to my own weak grip issues right now, not so much the barbell's grip itself.All-in-all, if you want a good barbell to deadlift with and don't feel like spending $100+, this product makes a lot of sense and will not fail you. I was a bit skeptical at first after looking at its ridiculously affordable price, but after using it for the past 5 months, I have had no issues whatsoever. If you feel like buying it, buy it.

Some end user repair required.
Like a few others, mine came bent. Like really bent. Without clamps the weight would probably slide off. With clamps on it probably would work fine though.Oddly it was bent right where the shaft goes into the drum.I just took the drums off and stuck it in my truck hitch and straightened it out by hand. 89kg of me pushing down 6ft from the bend got it back straight. That's seriously not a lot of force. That means if you were to stick 4pl8 on each end and pick it up from the very center, it would bend. If you're very careful, you can DL 4pl8 with this bar but no more. I wouldn't go over 3pl8 for anything but deadlift where you can just drop it.But let's be real here, it's $60. Good starter bar that will serve most lifters fine.

Inaccurate description
If you're not picky then this product MAY work for you. The picture shows a chrome finished bar, however, in the details it does say black finish which I later found out. This was not a big issue. The big issue for me was how the bar was supposed to be 45lbs and it clocked in at roughly 38lbs. Lastly, it claims that the sleeves swivel with a delicate touch.. This simply isn't true. One sleeve moves fairly well and the other is completely seized up. With all this being said, the shipping wasn't a bad price for such a large and heavy object and it arrived on time. Also, it does its job of being a barbell able to support 500lbs. I wouldn't recommend this product either way. I went to a local fitness supply store after being disappointed with this purchase and found a great 700lb capacity bar for the same price and it's even nicer with sleeves that actually swivel. Conclusion: spend your money elsewhere and check locally if possible.

Not a well machined piece.
This was a very disapointing bar. It is either poorly machined or it was damaged during shipping or maybe both. The supposedly swivel sleeves do not swivel freely at all. One doesn't even turn at all and you can't even get the Hex bolt at the tip to unscrew to try and loosen the sleeve to lubricate it or even to access the bearing ring. That is the end that was sticking out of the package when i received it. The cardboard tube in wich it was packed has no end protection at all, not even bubble plastic or something. So if the end of the bar is hit on the ground with it's full weight on that end, then it might surely damage the bearing swivel ring. If there is a bearing swivel ring. I will use it for bench only so the swivel is less important. The black finish damages right away on the rack, I don't know why the hell they bother to put paint on a bar.

Buyer beware
Product weighs about 10lbs less then indicated. Paint is cheap, scratches with all types of plates, chips off when placed on squat rack. Grip for wieghts and grappling is far to thin to provide any traction.
