I'm a dental hygienist and at 42 am now in traditional bracket/wire braces. I'll be honest, generally speaking the first few days are extremely uncomfortable so the best thing for that pain/disconfort is over the counter meds and cold/soft foods. That being said, I'm very familiar with dental wax and it's applications and found like many focus groups that it can be messy and hard to work with/keep on. This is such a wonderful alternative and although I only show one in the photo for reference, they are in every area I had wear spots and they have eliminated the irritation! They are a bit slippery like silicone when you first put them in, but I might recommend resting them on your tongue to get them moist (which is on the directions) and if you're able, use your tongue to push it against the area you want relief and then grip and press with your fingers onto the bracket/band prongs/etc. The only trade off of course is the wasteful packaging and fact that you'll have to change these EVERYTIME you eat so they don't harbor bacteria that can cause cavities. They turn into a wax like material that comes off as easily as traditional wax when removing. They're a bit pricey, but for the first few days/weeks until your cheek tissue develops resiliency against the new appliance in your mouth....they are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 😁

Y’all, I don’t even know where to begin. But these babies are LEGIT!I recently got my braces a couple of weeks ago. Yes, I’m another millennial getting braces. Anyway, back to these lifesavers.Like most folks, I was provided with dental wax. I’m like I don’t this. However, my mouth said, “girl, you a lie!” The way my braces were cutting up mouth <insert crying face> I definitely found myself regretting my life choices. I would put on the wax to only still be in pain from the cut in mouth. And because I have to talk—a lot— for work, I felt as if I was being tortured until this past Saturday (3/23).I instantly felt relief when I placed these squares on the areas of irritation. These squares/dots are easy to use, stay on for all day (at least in my case), and you can eat/drink with these on.The only downside is that they come 12 in a pack. But I PROMISE these are the money!

These are so much better than wax.They stay on the bracket really well and don’t disintegrate in your mouth like wax does.There’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, they are easy to use.Tip: don’t push hard when putting these on your bracket. Gently put the dot on your bracket and keep very light pressure on it for 10 seconds.Then you can easier mold it around the entire bracket, again, very gently.

These things are absolutely the best. I was miserable and these made me feel normal again. They can stay on while eating if you're eating something soft.
