Is the a heat protectant type product?

Yes. It protects your hair from heat, so you apply a quarter size amount when wet. It makes a noticeable difference, making hair much smoother and less frizzy when blow dried and heat treated. It also smells great!

I have fine hair and it does help detangle, but that isn't really an issue for me. Too much product can make hair look dirty/waxy. That said I LOVE this product and have used it for years. Smells great and protects hair.

Is this product good for fine hair or will it leave it weighted down and greasy looking?

It's best for fine - medium hair. It does not weigh the hair down or make it greasy. It has more of a " barely there " feeling. Always apply from mids to ends, as with most/any leave in treatments.
