Great product for small projects
I needed to refresh a 10 year old, 5 foot tall concrete fountain. The original color was terracotta, but it had severely faded over the years. This concrete stain was just right for my small project. Reading the mixed reviews it wasn't clear whether or not to dilute it with water. I decided an a 50-50 mixture as I wasn't sure if the 4 oz. bottle would be enough. Following the directions from the company website, I sprayed the statue with a fine mist spray using an old, empty spray bottle. I applied the stain with an old, cheap 3" mixed bristle brush. In about 20 minutes, I had spread the yellow stain over the complete statue and still had 4 oz. of diluted mixture left, which I put back into the original bottle, filling it to the top. As I started to apply the stain, the color went quite dark in some spots and I was afraid that I couldn't stop the process, but decided that I would just live with the darker color. See the second picture. I neutralized the process with a mixture of TSP (Tri Sodium Phosphate). Low and behold as it dried, the color lightened to the terracotta color I had been hoping for in the beginning. So, be patient. Since I have so much diluted product left, I will use it to touch up one or two lighter spots and possibly do more projects. So, I am very happy with the result and highly recommend it. Start to finish, including prep and cleanup was just about an hour, however it did take about 2 additional hours for the statue to fully dry to it's final color.

Made my water fountain look new!
It was my first time trying this product on a project. My fountain looked weathered from years of sun exposure and needed a facelift. I came across this concrete acid stain to bring back the copper look the fountain previously once had. Here are some things to keep in mind:- Super easy to use! I used a sponge to dab the stain onto the fountain. Make sure to wear gloves! This thing could also stain your clothes.- The initial stain color is not the final color. I noticed that the stain progressively turned darker after a day or 2 of drying.- Stain is best used when it’s warm and sunny! It will dry much faster, and you’ll be able to see the color transform much more quickly.- When you’re happy with the stain color after it’s been applied and has dried for a couple of days, make sure to use a water sealing spray to set the stain.

Take your time
I’ve been dying to do something with the small concrete bench I bought. It looked sterile like something you saw in a cemetery. Buying a 1 gallon product was not an option for this small project. Lesson learned, do not be over zealous, I went crazy with a spray bottle. Hindsight, should have a small section at a time with the spray bottle and used a brush or sponge to get into the crevices. I live in the southwest 100+ degrees, after 4 hours, I washed off with water. I initially regretted my choice but result is what I wanted. A bench that looked aged like it had been under the tree for 20 years. The Weathered Terra Cotta worked great. Instructions in the side of the bottle are very tiny. Please consider including instructions in a font size 12 or larger. A request from an old lady.

Acid Stain is good.
Not as dark as I hoped but it made a difference in our chipped stained Tera cotta stamped concrete. It seems to darken with time as well. Good product.
