The blanket I received is not weighted in the center. There is only weight along the edges. I’m really disappointed that I spent so much on this blanket. I washed as directed and air dried it. My daughter needs a weighted blanket but now we’re stuck with an overpriced spring blanket

This blanket was such a huge disappointment. I am a big fan of Aden and Anais; all five of my children had their own set of the brand's cotton muslin blankets as babies (a different print for each :-). I was really excited when I saw this weighted "lounge" blanket, since it is a perfect size. Upon opening the blanket, I was surprised at how scratchy the cotton is, like really cheap, low thread-count cotton sheets. The seams where the blanket is quilted are also very apparent against bare skin. Thinking maybe it just needed washing to soften up a bit (and it did include a tag advising to wash before use), I washed and dried the blanket according to the directions. Unfortunately, laundering the blanket did nothing to make it softer, but the print faded, making this blanket look worn out. The only thing I like about this blanket is that it is a nice size and weight, and I like how the weight is only in the edges, unlike other weighted blankets we have tried (where the weight is throughout the blanket).Overall, I expected MUCH better from the Aden and Anais brand, especially at the current ~$120 price. This blanket is not soft and fades with normal washing. If I had it to do over, I would not have ordered this blanket. Bottom line: recommend not being swayed by the brand name, saving your money, and buying a different blanket.

This is the second weighted blanket that we've purchased for daughters. The first one was smaller, but heavier at 7lbs, and had a minky cover (like a duvet) that you have to take off to wash and then hang to dry. While we like that one, I have to say that this weighted blanket from aden + anais is much better for our older daughter, who tends to sleep hot, but needs the little bit of weight to help her restlessness. Not only is this blanket a little bit lighter, but the WHOLE blanket is machine washable, which is really ideal when you're using it for little ones.If you have a little one who struggles with restlessness and wakes up a lot at night, I would recommend trying something like this blanket. Our daughter is 5 and normally only sleeps with one light blanket and so far this weighted blanket has been working wonders for her quality of sleep. A heavier blanket probably would have been too warm, so the 4lb weight is perfect.
