We got this to stop her bullying the cats (we have 5, long story) because weve tried positive reinforcement, but she’s had too many dopamine hits being able to chase the cats without any repercussions, so her behaviour towards them has recently become worse. Once we read the instruction manual twice and watched some training videos on this, we tested it on ourselves and then got it on her and gave it a test run. She responds to the sound warning really well, so 95% of the time that’s all she needs. If she’s excited, she will ignore the sound so we use the vibration and that also works well. I’ve only given her a “zap” a couple times when she’s ignored me (mid chase of cat, trying to snatch my 4yr old daughters cookie and jumping on her ) when her motivation was high, and it stopped her right in her tracks. I understand why, it’s like a rubber band snap. No pain just a very clear message and distraction from the intense focus. She is learning to settle down around the cats very well although I do wonder if she recognises that when it’s on she has to behave. And when it’s off it’s fair game (I have a lab she’s too smart sometimes) Make sure you read the instructions twice. You can hurt your dog otherwise or ruin the trust relationship. This is a training tool, not a quick fix. The range seems to be quite good and also we have a very bushy section, we found we could use the sound to find where she was if she ignored the “come” command. it’s exact what was missing which is consequences for ignoring commands, and also being able to communicate with her more effectively. I have yet to see how the battery holds out that seems to be the biggest issue people Have. I hope not to need it longer than a few weeks Edit: we stopped using it because she stopped responding to it most of the time. I reverted to basic recall training. I gave up on expecting her to respond but rewarded VERY heavily EVERY time she came to me when I asked. I also used a long leash around the cats. FAR more effective than this. Although I recommend trying it, and it works well, it isn’t a long term tool for us.

I was hoping something with the functionality this has would help with my dog. He is a generally good dog but unfortunately he is also spooked by little things. While he does not have hearing problem for sure, he has very selective hearing. Sometimes he gets fixated on something and when he does I can not break his attention away. Nothing short of me going and grabbing him will even then he will do everything he can to avoid being caught so he can turn around and go right back into what ever he is fixated with. I was hoping this, with vibrate or sound would work. It does, it will totally break his attention away. Unfortunately it spooks him and he will then bolt and run. Even at the lowest settings. This is no fault of the manufacturer. Unfortunately him being a rescue I am not sure what all he has dealt with in the past. I did not want to put it on shock mode as I was afraid that might really cause him to be afraid. So unfortunately I can not really review the effectiveness of this. I can say that it does do everything that it says it does as far as the various functions. I can not attest to the range on this though as 100 ft is the max i ever needed it to go. But it was easy to use and it did work unfortunately it just wasn't for my pup.

We inherited a 7-year-old large poodle when a close friend passed and though he was well trained while on leash he would bolt off leash and be miles away within 30 minutes. We knew this would be a huge problem when we took him to our hunting lease where dangerous hazards are abundant. I used this collar and remote to train him for full time off leash control. I adjusted the shock level per the easy-to-follow included instruction booklet and ensured the collar was adjusted properly. As soon as I let him out of my truck the new environment and different smells overwhelmed him, and he started darting into one direction after another. As soon as he was about to step out of the camp area, I hit the button, and the shock stopped him dead in his tracks. I only had to do this 5 times, and he started realizing his boundaries. Next, I placed the remote on buzz and that was enough reinforcement to keep him under control. After several days we tried switching to beep mode but it was only about 80 percent effective. If he's real excited, the beep just can't get his attention. The effective distance on this collar is fantastic and more than ample to keep him in check. The range of adjustment on the remote is great as well and I believe it will work well with any dog. An extremely important feature of this collar and remote is that they're waterproof. I've seen others that had their systems fail the first time it rained, or their dog got into water. There's no worry of this happening with this collar and remote. The collar that comes with the kit is of good quality, easy to adjust and durable enough to withstand constant running though tall brush. After two weeklong trips to the lease using this collar, we've never had to use it again and can maintain control over him consistently. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality and effectiveness of this remote training collar and absolutely consider it an outstanding value!

This product is awesome, this is my first dog and I was hesitant on a shock collar because who wants to shock there dog a lot luckily this collar has the option to shock or vibrate, I keep my shock at level 5 and it goes up to 99 I mostly use vibrate and she listens because she knows she can get shocked, I have owned it 1 month haven’t had to charge it once it’s been on her in water numerous times. The price is fair for what you get and the qaulity can’t be beaten.
