I have used these before. They seem to work pretty good.

I use this before it enters my whole house water softener in an environment of low-sediment and semi-low chlorination city water. I went a bit over a year and found them in the condition pictured with this review. The water was still fine, but we noticed a slight sulfur smell in the shower so I took the cue and found it like this. The rubber seals were coming off and the liner in the center was beginning to fray. Whether this is consequential during normal usage lengths, I'm unsure, but I feel I caught in in time. Since that time was a year, I think that's satisfactory. We triple filter our drinking water anyhow (before the softener, at the fridge dispenser, and in a Brita pitcher, but it all tasted and smelled fine by the time of this change. RECOMMENDED.

The filters help remove particles and improve the taste our potable water. We enjoy drinking water everyday.

I just had my first bad one out of 15 I've ordered over the years. It was almost 1/4 inch taller than the one I pulled out and the end caps appeared to have been installed a little crooked. This made it so that my filter housing couldn't get turned tight enough to properly seal. It was about 1/4 of a turn away from where it usually is. I placed the old filter back in just for poops and hahas and it sealed up fine. Tried swapping the white rubber pieces on each end of the new cartridge with the old one, still no dice. Luckily I had one more new cartridge left and was able to use it today and that one sealed up perfectly fine.

This is the exact filter my water system installers used — and they wanted to charge me $150 for a service call plus $50 for the filter itself. Total overkill. I bought the same Aquaboon carbon block filter here for a fraction of the price and did the swap myself in under 10 minutes. The filter itself works great — it’s a standard 10”x4.5” 5-micron carbon block that removes chlorine, odors, and sediment. Water tastes clean, and there’s no noticeable drop in pressure. Solid construction and easy to install if you’ve got basic tools and a filter wrench. Added to a subscription and do the swap when it arrives.

I don’t usually leave product reviews but I feel like this might be waters best kept secret. I live on a lake and the metal levels in my water make it smell like rotten eggs, brown in color, and taste horrible. I have a whole house filter that you have to use charcoal filters in or it doesn’t work. I usually buy the $54.00 filter from the hardware store because it was the only filter that works but I have to change it every month and that gets expensive. I bought this product and it’s just as good (if not better) than the name brand expensive filter. I will continue to use this as it has given us amazing water!

So far so good. These are exactly the type of filter required for well water. Used in conjunction with a high flow 10u prefilter you can remove a ton on material from your well water and save your water heater. There is a little carbon flow to start with but I just run the first running to the laundry sink on cold to clear it.

Great product just as advertised. Apart from fine particles my well water has a rotten egg smell and this item actually works on both issues. Very happy!

Happy with this product. We just put a new one in (so, lasted end of September to end of December. Am going to order more however note that price was $47. in Sept 2024 but is now $57. three months later! Seems like a big jump in price!!
