Works great, the SWI is easier to program when updated and programmed via windows laptop. Less than 3 min to program. Did not supply correct screws to mount radio to mount. And waterproof cover does not fit if you have chrome bezel from Kyurikan on fairing. But overall, its Awesome

Excellent stereo with tons of useful functions. The only flaw is that the universal adapter for the handlebar controls didn't work. It was programmed correctly and recognized the Kenwood deck but not the Harley. (Update) further work on the Axxess Universal Controller didn't work but will have to rewire at a later time. I did a compete speaker, amp, rear lids with 6x9 added and wow what a difference. I only gave it 4 stars due to that. Once I have a fix I will update that as to what it took and or what parts were needed so someone else won't have to do all this. Overall a great stereo that sounds very good. **Update** was a bad (Diode) in the controller. New one was sent and installed and all worked as it should. Works excellent with the factory controls now for a long time now. Customer service is poor but what do you expect! Me and a friend traced it, took a bit but got it.

I think in my opinion if you are going to install a radio in or on a motorcycle it should definitely be marine grade. Plus when i had it installed on my ultra glide the handlebar controls worked sometimes and sometimes it didn't.

The original HD stereo is notorious for cutting out. Mine started doing just that on a long ride. I installed this stereo and the stereo works fine. The handlebar control on the other hand did not. Every connection I made was soldered and heat-shrink wrapped. The controls would work in the garage but shortly after being out on the road. The handle bar controls would stop working. I contacted customer service and the gentleman told me to split the wire for the 3mm plug and connect one of the two wires, I believe it was the white wire directly to the blue wire with the yellow strip. I did that and the results are better. The unit still not working correctly. Down volume would work, but up volume and mode changes would not. I contacted customer service again at Axxess. The 2nd gentlemen told me I have a loose connection somewhere. I told him everything was soldered so there couldn't be a loose connection. He said in a exasperated voice, "well you got a loose pin in your connection or something". Not much help. It is working but I lose some of the controls for up volume and mode selection. Down volume works fine all the time. That tells me there is something wrong with the Axxess control unit. My recommendation is purchase the stereo that accepts the HD wiring harness. It costs a little more, but will probably save you a great deal of aggravation in the long run. Just as a side note. The controls always worked fine on the HD stereo. The stereo would just not transmit the sound to the speakers.

Great radio for the price. Takes a little patience installing and hooking up the piece for the handlebar controls on motorcycle, but overall this is great!

This was purchased to replace the HK in my HD motorcycle because I wanted more features than the 2010 radio had. I am able to fine tune the sound to my liking and there is louder sound over the stock head unit. Music streaming had a big influence on my decision to upgrade. I don't believe the "weather-proof" cover would stay on with an HD running since it pops on using a rubber gasket. Might be good when you are parked outdoors though. I would purchase this head unit again.
