While the audio quality is great, the ANC barely works and with some sounds, like a fan, doesn't work at all. Ear buds are very uncomfortable.

I had a Bose Quiet Comfort 15 that served me well for nearly 10 years, but the earpads needed to be replaced. I travel frequently on long distance international flights so I really appreciated the ANC on the Bose, but I was getting tired of carrying the bulk. So I looked for the earbud type. To my surprise the Samsung ANC headset was only $28.99 (cheaper than the Bose OEM earpad replacement) vs $250 for Bose ANC earbuds. Upon receiving it, I couldn't get over the quality packaging. Anyway, I used this on a 22 hour trip (19 hr flight with 3 hours layover), and the battery lasted 20 hours on a single charge. The ANC worked while charging too. Plus with the ANC off, it works like a normal earphone. The ANC may not be as good as the Bose to the discerning user; but for the price, it gets a solid A in my book. The airplane engine noise was greatly reduced. I was so happy with it, I bought another three for gifts. The build quality is excellent as well. Another bonus is that it comes with a very attractive protective case.

Is the ANC on? Who knows. It makes no difference. I wasn’t expecting Bose quality, but I have some cheap ear buds from wish and here also that are not this bad.The controls are heavy and badly placed - it pulls the ear buds of of your ears.Sound quality is really disappointing also.I bought these to use on the plane with the in flight entertainment. The free non noise canceling ones you get in coach were better.

The noise cancelling function is just so so when I use it in the plane, it will reduce significant amount of engine noise but I still can hear some.When using the mic, I have to hold the mic near to mouth or else the other side can hardly hear me.The sound quality is pretty good, the battery life is good. It is compact and easy to bring around.
