When to crimp broken half doesn’t fit 16 gauge

You might think you're getting quality choosing this instead of the much cheaper unbranded bulk packs. I did. Mistake. Had a couple that were just hollow heat shrink tubes with no crimp section. That is an abysmal quality control rate for such a small count box.

I bought these pink ones for a compact project and did not expect them to be 1 1/4 inch long and very stiff. I guess it is my fault, but others might want to know that the finished splice will not be flexible or compact for a tight-space use. There is also a learning curve for us novices, so buy extras.

This brand is still better than the others that are available to us DIYers. Its sturdy and the heat shrink portions makes a good seal and does not easily melt off like the other brands.

The sheaths on these butt splices are awful. They are hard, brittle, and seemingly old plastic so when you go to crimp them (with a proper crimper), they just crack. This totally bummed me out and now I have to start over. Avoid at all cost unless you want a major headache and your loved ones to see your ranting and raving at this product about how terrible it is and how it ruined your wiring and how you have to go buy something else!!!
