Rothco BDU Cargo Shorts Men’s Outdoor Shorts Hiking Shorts

I have bought countless pairs of these BDU-type shorts over the years from different manufacturers. The twill material used in these Rothco shorts is nice, but it's certainly thinner than the heavyweight twill I've seen before. The print is nice and the colors are vibrant, though my experience with these is that they can fade quickly. They seem to be manufactured well enough. There were a couple of loose threads after the first wash. The hip pockets are pretty shallow and the side cargo pockets are a bear to button & unbutton. Rear pockets unbutton a little easier. Yes, these are button fly and yes, they do run a bit large. The XL has a 10.5" inseam. Keep in mind that the adjustment tabs at the waist mean that these fit a range of waist sizes, not just the ones listed in the size chart on Amazon. Checking the manufacturer's size chart online, I could have sized down to a large for a less baggy fit. Overall, a decent pair of shorts for knocking around.

Love everything about these pants, so much so that I ordered more in different colors.The only complaint I have is that I was looking for, basically black on black which is what the image looked like. I specifically was trying to find something to go with a black on black camo ball cap I have. When I opened the package, they were a darker version of the grey urban camo. So that was disappointing, but they look good and wear well so far. I can still use the grey camo, so it wasn't a huge enough deal to dock them from 5 stars.

Item arrived in perfect condition, love the woodland camo motif. Would have been happier if material had a bit of stretch to it. Other than that, it fits great, no bunching up, no tags, or labels to worry about. All is all satisfied, and recommend to others. Great price, great deal, great material. give'em a try!

Just what I wanted and the length is perfect.

It should be cheaper. There are better and cheaper qualities.

I bought these for work. Well made and fit like you would expect a BDU short would (assuming anyone buying these would have worn BDU's before). Typical plastic button fly, adjustable straps on waistline, and comfortable to wear all day long.

These shorts are pretty comfortable on first try. I got the tiger stripe camo, and it looks correct. I’m 5’11” and wear a size 36. I got a large 35-39, and they fit just fine with a little adjustment on the side straps. They feel pretty quality. Not a fan of the button fly, but whatever. On the pocket issue, the front pockets hold my whole hand just fine, or my big iPhone XS Max with no problems. Now if I was super slouching in my chair taking an old man nap it might be possible for it to fall out. The pocket opening is pretty diagonal, but the depth goes as low as the bottom of the side pocket cover flap. I imagine if you were carrying a tall can of Pabst Blue Ribbon in your pocket and kicking Hobbits that the beer would fall out, but it should hold keys, your phone, or your lube of choice just fine. For the back pockets I might say they are a tad shallow, but my biker wallet is 6 inches wide. I have trouble buttoning one button with my wallet in there, two is basically impossible. I would just leave it in there unbuttoned, but like I said my wallet is larger than a regular one. As I said they feel pretty quality/durable, but I wouldn’t go doing any lunges or ballerina stuff in them. Don’t feel like there’s a lot of give in them, so maybe an aggressive movement could possibly split them, thus exposing your turd cannon to the world. Just buy them and look cool. Oh, they go just below my knee. Stay strong, and do something nice for someone, and call your mom, she longs to hear from you.

Fairly heavy duty, I have several pairs of these in different colors. When they get wet they very much stay wet, cotton and all that. My biggest complaint is the top button has had the threads break on 2 sets. I know, lose that hog belly and that won't happen, but it's not that big and has never happened on any other clothes. After re-sewing the button back on it's never happened again. So, this is my gripe.

Not what I'm used to when looking for BDU Shorts. Side pockets are shallow, and the shorts don't seem to be cut like the BDU trousers at all. They feel restrictive in movement as compared to trousers of the same brand and size. Not sure I could recommend this product.

Shorts are nice quality. Size I ordered were too small. Recommend ordering larger size. Company refunded for shorts and shipping cost. Stand up company.

Nice shorts. Material feels pretty durable. The only downside I see is a lack of a reinforced seat.Other than that, happy with purchase.
