McDonald Publishing What Mathematicians Do Colossal Poster (V1617)

This is my first year teaching math. I had a similar one for science. Students tend to be afraid of math. Hopefully this will be a daily reminder of what they CAN do and excel.

This poster is very large and can be easily read from across the room. The actions listed under "What Good Mathematicians Do" relate directly to various elements of the Common Core Mathematical Practice Standards and emphasize the process of doing mathematics rather than simply having students produce the "correct" response. I teach 5th grade math at a middle school and am looking forward to having this poster as a helpful reminder to students to guide them through the process of collaborative, problem-based learning.

I highly recommend this wall poster for any middle school math classroom. I refer to it all the time. If you are interested in promoting thinking this is great!

It's a great addition to the classroom. I teach math and science, which are very interconnected. I refer my students to it often.

This poster has all of the symbols that my middle-schoolers need to see!! I use this as a reference often.
