SABRENT mSATA to 2.5 Inch SATA III Aluminum Enclosure Adapter (EC-MSSA)

BEST VALUE I HAVE BOUGHT IN A WHILE. I spend way to much money on Amazon, and this thing might be the best value on anything I have bought in a while. Seriously, pleasantly surprised. I has a mSata, and I wanted a SSD drive. This made it a SSD drive. Its metal, and solid, and just seems like the best value ever for 10 bucks! i'm not a drive expert, I am just a guy that tinkers with stuff, and I have seen a good many drives, but it seems fantastic. I am not aware of any issues. if I have to be picky, there is this little plastic strip used when you want to open it. It helps with that. Not required, but I bet its a pain without this little strip. I am a little concerned with its thickness. (thin) But at the same time, I only need to open this thing, one time. Maybe a second time in 3 -5 years when the mSata dies ? So, its works great.

REVIEW: Sabrent mSATA to 2.5-Inch SATA III Aluminum Enclosure Adapter (EC-MSSA) SUMMARY: Arrived perfect condition, well packaged, easy to use without instructions, performance was on par with what I expected from my MSATA drive. One note is that the picture show the case screws going into the wrong set of holes. (the screws go on the inside set of holes, not the outside as shown in the picture). It even came with a screwdriver. UNBOXING: (see picture) INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Perfectly met my expectations for the price. I wanted something cheap and quick and that is what I got. I saw a few horror stories in other reviews, but I’m glad I ignored them. Aluminum case to diffuse any heat (not that I found there was any). PERFORMANCE / EASE OF USE: INITIAL SETUP: My “old” laptop died and I wanted to reuse the 512GB MSATA card that I installed in it a few years ago. Once I had the card out of my laptop, I transferred it to this case. Screwed it down with included screws. Then I added the side screws to the case, and dropped the whole thing into an external USB enclosure I had left over from some drives I shucked for my NAS. Anyway, I plugged it all in, the drive was instantly recognized and I was able to quickly backup any leftover files from my old laptop. My MSATA card by the way is a Samsung EVO 840 MSATA 500GB PERFORMANCE: I was worried about heat, but there was none at all. Performance was close to SATA II speeds over USB 3.1 chassis that I had. I don’t expect any issues long term. Next, I will likely install the drive as a new boot drive in a spare laptop I have. SUMMARY: I would recommend this to anyone who needs a quick way to rescue / reuse and old MSATA card. Especially if they are going to put this into another device. I’m not sure it would hold up on its own as an external drive (without a full case around it).

I bought two of these, and while both function just fine, one has problems with the screw holes not being properly threaded. the included screws can barely screw into place on the inner frame tray without the exterior cover installed, and don't properly screw in at all with the exterior cover installed. the screws just spin and fall back out. So, the engineering tolerances are a bit too loose for me to give it a full 5 stars, but overall it's serving the purpose I intended for it at a reasonable price.

Solid mSATA to SATA solution. Exactly what I've come to expect from.one of the leaders in SSD and interface adapters. Let me take a lightly used pocket SSD and create fire into an older laptop so it can be used for medium duty video edit. Easy to open, easy to assemble. All-out hardware and tools needed to make it happen are included in the box. Just buy, open the case up, put the mSATA card in, button it all up with the provided screws and GO.

I bought this because of how pleased I was with a previous Sabrent purchase, the external USB SATA drive housing. The cleverness of the mechanical design was just great - it snapped together trivially with no tools - and electrically it worked seamlessly. This device was the same. I bought this because I had purchased another mSATA to SATA adapter, and it worked fine electrically, but it gave me problems mechanically. It would work loose from time to time and my system would say "no drive present". So I had high expectations for this purchase, and Sabrent did not disappoint. What a thoughtful design. A cloth strap to help pull the clamshells apart. Screws to firmly hold the mSATA drive inside the housing, and a quality, dimensionally correct housing, and more screws to secure the housing shut. No fighting required to get it together, or to get it to mate with my machine. It's exactly the size and shape of a hard drive, and the housing appears to be good quality powder-coated metal. The screws all mate easily with the screw holes. My only slight sadness is that I wish they had included the four screws that affix the drive to its bracket in my machine. Fortunately I had both saved my old screws and was able to find them. Lastly, I turned the machine back on and it just worked. No surprise - it's Sabrent. Keep up the good work, guys!

got here fast! good price to accommodate old hardware that was just laying around! gives me a home to plug it in.

Does what it's supposed to do. No complaints.

The first thing I have to say is Sabrent is one of the best PC parts suppliers I know. Quite a small California based company, their tech support are good, I get 24 hour email turn around every time. Great little piece of kit, disassemble my Samsung t5 1tb ssd USB external, and slots straight into msata pcb. screws included and handy little screwdriver. Put together and fitted into my Sata drive array, works perfectly. Simple effective. I guess the most positive is, its a tough case, metal I think. So a drop, it will survive and acts like a heatsink better than a plastic case would!

Scatola del prodotto ben curata, Anche graficamente dà subito l'impressione di una'azienda seria. Contiene l' enclosure completamente in alluminio, molto ben curato, verniciato satinato a polvere. Esteticamente impeccabile. In dotazione un piccolo cacciavitino ed il set di 4 viti per chiudere l' enclosure e due per fissare l' mSata al suo interno. Le 4 piccole viti nere una volta serrate risultano perfettamente a filo. L' enclosure ha lateralmente e nella parte inferiore tutti i fori filettati, a quote standard, per essere alloggiato nei vari supporti. La piccola scheda mSata si innesta perfettamente all'interno e va fermata con le due viti in dotazione. La circuitazione è ben fatta e le saldature curate. Il montaggio è semplicissimo ma comunque c'è un manualetto di istruzioni in inglese che descrive sia a parole che con foto , l'installazione. Il prodotto funziona benissimo, sia con interfaccia USB sia alloggiato all'interno del PC come HDD primario. Giudizio totalmente positivo.

Ich habe eine Samsung 850Evo MSATA SSD in das Gehäuse eingebaut um sie in einem Laptop zu nutzen, der keinen MSATA Port hat. Der Einbau ging problemlos, wenn auch der mitgelieferte Schraubenzieher Schrott ist, weil sich der Griff frei dreht. Hierfür Punktabzug zu geben wäre aber Erbsenzählerei. Alles andere ist perfekt. Das Gehäuse ist schnell zusammen gebaut, die Schrauben versinken ohne Überstand im Material und lassen sich so problemlos in jeden 2,5" Schacht einbauen. Datenübertragungsgeschwindigkeit habe ich nicht getestet, aber bisher habe ich mit win10 keinerlei Probleme weder von der Kompatibilität her noch von der Geschwindigkeit. Ich kann das Gehäuse absolut empfehlen!
