Amazing book. Author Susan Riehle gives you solid advice on how to interview, negotiate for a better salary, and get the best job, but the book is more than that: it is a career guide by an inspiring job coach.

Shhh! The author revealed some key secrets in a delightful read. How can you go wrong? One simple idea from this book could save your negotiation or net you thousands in your next review or at least align-you-up for a good approach at promotion. The trick in ANY negotiation of life is being WELL PREPARED. You need answers literally "off the top of your head". And you haven't got a lifetime to acquire all the answers on your own, so the SMART people leverage-off the answers of others who have experience. I can't tell you the number of times I've used quotes and experiences by others to make my point. It CLEARLY sets you apart. Just one read and you can ascertain the author clearly has the experience both in corporate america and running a business. Let's talk for a moment about that other famous book which I'll refer to as "color parachute." That author was a university professor when I was in college and you HAD to read his book as a requirement. It almost sounds good to naive students. Yes...thousands of students forced to buy that book catapulted-it to a famous status. Its not bad advice but anyone who ran his own business laughed at that book as "academia-written, not very practical." By this book and learn the REAL SECRETS.

Excellent! Cuts to the chase. Tells you EXACTLY what you need to know in a way that reinforces the message so that it is loud and clear. Uses humor and real world examples (true stories) very effectively (and in the process shows you how by example) to do this in the job seeking process and beyond. Although I am not currently looking for a job, I can still use this advice on the job I have, to make my life better. I am a teacher (and have been one for most of my life) and I still have things to learn from this book!If you work, if you are looking for a job, if you deal with other humans, if you are married, have a child, have a boss, are the boss, are your own boss, get this book! You'll smile all the way to the bank. :)

Riehle really understands perspectives of both bosses and employees, and who couldn't use to understand the boss better? This book sheds light on a variety of topics such as negotiating a raise or becoming an entrepreneur. If you have a job or need a job, any job, you need this book!
