Warrior Bronze (Gods and Warriors)

Bought as a gift and the book arrived as expected and on time.

My son loves this series. He finished it with in a week.

The first book was hard to read but after that it was like butter on a piece of toast. This series had it all - love, jealousy, anger, struggle and two very different heroes. Although I would have liked to see Issi more in the series, I like how strong willed and independent she was.For me the love story really came alive in book 4 and by book 5, it was painful to see the conflict that Hylas had to endure.So goodbye for now to a great author and perhaps again we will meet in the pages of a book.

This story is the ending chapter of the series and is predictable as one would expect. The boy gets the girl, the enemies are vanquished and the good folk live happily ever after. Still it is an entertaining read and if you read the first four books, you have to read this one.

Although this series (and the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness) are intended for children, I have stumbled across them as an adult and have found them to be a very enjoyable escape from reality. They are well written and philosophically interesting, in that they portray a belief systems of the Pre-Christian era. I would rate them on a par with the Chronicles of Narnia in the way they take you into a different world.....a world of gods and, what we would call magic. Sadly I have to say this last book in the series did seem somewhat rushed.....especially the first half, but even so it is well worth reading to see how everything pans out. I can't really say more without spoiling the end for those who have not yet read it, but can recommend it. Finally my congratulations to the authoress, if she should read this review....I especially love her unique ability to tell parts of the story from an animals point of view. Just lovely.

Ordered for one of my children who has enjoyed this series. Met her expectations.

Really enjoyed this series, my hubbie read it too and I think our 12 year old will like it as well !

This book is incredible! The detail and time that has been put into this series in amazing... I would just like to say that maybe Michelle Paver or anyone else could make a small book about what happened after this phenomenal ending! That would make my day...... Thank you for taking your going me to read this.
