Great phone and does what other brands do for a friendly price.
I love an Alcatel, I've had various phones from them over the last 20 years. This one we bought so my husband can video call his children.Easy to operate (they are 10, 11, and 12) and have no problems navigating it themsleves.Easy to set up; we chose a PIN to open.Might not be an all singing all dancing high end phone; but if your looking for a good quality basic with a decent battery life - this is well worth a purchase.

Slow, low capacity, and battery drains fast
I bought this because the old mobile I use for travelling died, and I had another trip almost immediately. This came up in a comparison of phones for the best phone under £100.It's flimsy and light, and when using the charger provided, it gets very, very hot, very, very quickly. It is annoying to use - it's ludicrously easy to hit the button at the bottom of the screen that returns you to the main landing screen, making anything you are trying to do incredibly tiresome. It's also ridiculously slow - pages take so long to load that it's a flashback to 90s Internet dial up days. Worst of all, it has very limited capacity - I needed to scan and upload my passport for a hotel check in, and it simply couldn't cope: repeated insufficient memory warnings. Websites frequently crash for the same reason. The battery drains very fast - it is unusable as a smart phone, so I've been using it as a hot spot so I can use the WiFi on my normal phone whilst travelling. The battery drains entirely within about four hours. If I charge before bed, and don't use anything at all (and switch off) then it's down to about 60% by morning.Just to set this into context - the phone it replaced was an 8 year old Sony Xperia (issue with the charging port was an uneconomic repair). This brand new phone performs significantly more poorly in absolutely every respect. In short, save your money: I wish I had!

Reasonable Basic Android Phone
Although these are slow phones compared to most units on the Android market, which gets more and more expensive, they have taken the low-cost slot, and will still do quite a lot for around £50 - file exploring, EPUB or PDF reading, text notes, audio and video playback, all fine, as well as the basic phone functionality. The one glitch tends to be the ability to retain one open app like a text or decrypted pass page at the same time as an open webpage, which can be particularly annoying when having to enter passes. Still a reasonable low-cost basic phone and compromise, particularly in a market of £500-1000 phones.

Good phone I will buy again for kids.
It’s a good phone shame the old sim couldn’t use it and had to be returned. But love the phone for youngsters. Thanks to the seller for refunding and including postage of return. Amazing, I would shop with them again for other items.

Great for the price!
It’s such a good product for what you pay for!! All apps work perfectly, has good battery life!! Of course it’s not a super fast phone but all works so well!! Very happy with it!!

Absolutely unacceptable battery life
Echoing what another reviewer has said, this is a simple smartphone with an unacceptably short battery life. The problem has been there from the beginning, but was aggravated after a recent system update. I fully charged the phone late last night, left it on the desk overnight, only to find it turned off in the morning with less than 1% of battery left.Completely unacceptable.

ok for the money
the is good for texting, whatsapp, and phoning but the battery needs constant charging, if have the phone setting it up and what ever after 1 hour its down to 50% so you need to charge it, but the phone is good for the money

Good for basic calls and texts, but this phone is very laggy
I got this phone to replace my Sony Xperia phone that "exploded" into a cracked screen error, just so I can continue communicating and recieving essential texts and calls that my tablet cannot do. However there is just one problem: even running basic tasks such as whatsapp or calls makes the phone laggy, like it only has a few tens of MB of ram instead of the advertised 1GB of ram. The area around the camera lens tens to get hot, and it takes 4 hours to charge. I would recommend this product only as a last resort if your main powerful phone breaks, and need to make calls and recieve texts such as Two factor stuff. Other than that, not recommended for any purpose else, purely due to the lag, and the small screen size.
