I used these a number years ago. They were still working. So when the hose on another facuet split i got a couple more. If you have good hose just repair it. Easy repair. Hose part looks like brass(?). Clamp is gray metal. Clamps really good. Doesn't leak. One issue, if hose has been sitting in hot sun turn it on and I have them pop off. But I just run water on till hot water clears out and it's ok.

These are the best couplings to use for hose repair. Very easy and secure. In my case, the heat damaged the end of my hose where it was exposed to the sun and attached to a water wand. I simply cut off the damaged section and used the coupling to provide a nice new end to the hose. No leaks!
