No you should not. Basically, you will install your new 2.5 inch drive in the mounting kit. Everything you need is there. You will then unplug your existing 3.5 inch drive remove it and replace it with the mounted 2.5 inch assembly. Unplug your computer before starting. That's it for the physical part. Then you need to install OS etc.. on your new drive.
