If it wasn't for bonus content my rating would be lower
When I bought this book I registered it at Ciscopress and got access to the bonus content which made this an originally one star rating pushing it up to a two stars. The challenge with this book is it's based on you building a full eve-gn host to be able to complete the labs exactly as they appear in the book, but you wouldn't know this until you actually buy the book, read the intro that you should register it, and then once you register it you can access the added content. It is only when you access this content you will discover the lab files are in a format that you can only use with eve-gn. It took researching the comments from book reviews to discover that this is no small task to build a eve-gn host. Why I gave it two stars is the bonus content includes a PDF file of the book with an explanation of each lab and there are also the router txt config files that you can use to pre-config many of the nodes using GNS3 or Packet Tracer. However, I'm working through the EIGRP lab and there are some configs missing. Also, I doubt I will be able to do the SD-WAN and SD Access labs until I can build the eve-gn host. I will need a higher performing PC than my MacBook Pro that is required to install eve-gn and load up all the virtual appliances. It's no small task too if you are like me - a route and switch guy - to build a new host, install eve-gn and then find all the virtual appliances. The info is scattered across multiple sites. There are some useful YouTube videos that will help you but if you are not well versed in eve-gn configuration it's a daunting task that takes a lot of time.

2500+ Page PDF Lab Book!
I'm working through the labs now. It seems the editors cut the Cisco Press print down and left out loads of material. No issue though...register the book, download the associated content, and you get the full lab guide in .pdf format. You also get the lab files for eve-ng. You'll have to set up eve-ng for all the required device types/images : IOL, vIOS, CSR (SDWAN was a beast - use 16.2.11 for vManage, vBond, vSmart - can use 18.4.4 for vEdge - vManage 17+ requires a smart license account to join vEdge devices...found that out the hard way)...if you search hard enough, you can find all of these for free online. Also, if you're like me and don't want to pay for Eve-ng pro, remove the docker linux boxes and load up a qemu qcow2 image instead for your virtual machines.Shooting for a Dec 2022 lab test, thanks for the awesome study materials!!!
