It is an excellent shaving soap that easily works into a stiff lather with small bubbles that hold up the beard hair. The soap also lasts a long time.

I've used this product for well over 20 years. I've tried a variety of others (all good) but keep coming back to this brand. I've also tried some of their other scents, which I also recommend. Very clean feeling after. I gave it a 3 star for travel, because I don't think of cake soap is particularly handy for travel (depends on your set up, I suppose, and whether you are flying or driving), and because I've tried the tube shaving cream from the same maker and didn't like it quite as much. One reviewer said this soap tends to clog multi-bladed razors. That's not been my experience, although I can see that as a criticism of the the tube shaving cream.

A very good shaving soap. It lathers well and it lasts a very long time. It took months for me to use it all shaving every day. My only criticism is that the lavender scent fades to an almost unnoticeable level very quickly after you start using it. As expensive as it is, I would have been upset if it dissolved quickly, but it did last and last and last....

Decent soap. Use a lot of water or it will dry fast. Provides for a smooth shave. Label is impossible to get off... adhesive resembles an ionic bond - almost ruined the beautiful bowl. Disappointed it is a veneer.
