I know I’m not alone in the fact that you would add water to the fill line and then microwave some instant noodles. However I learned tonight that these noodles have a warning that states not to microwave. I learned the hard way.Went to heat up a bowl of noodles in the microwave. I took out the packets. Added water to the fill line. Placed it inside and turned it on for 4 mins.Then I turned my back looking in the fridge to see what else to have with the noodles. I saw two flashes of lights. Turned around looked at my phone thinking it was a notification flashing. So I turned back to the fridge.Then I heard a crackle and turned around seeing the cup is on fire flames and all inside the microwave. I open the door to turn it off. And then my brain goes into action modeFirst attempt- close the door that will snuff it out. But soon realize that isn’t going to go well because it would need to burn through all the oxygen inside the microwave first. And I truly don’t know if the microwave is sealed to not let more oxygen inside.Second attempt- I open the microwave and grab the part not on fire and pull it out and start looking around to see how to do this. Do I try and carry it outside what do I do?! Throw a towel over it to snuff it out?! I look at the sink then I look back up the bowl and I’m like going back to safety training… will adding water make it worse or help?After a little back and forth with the voices in my head I deduce there is no oil in the product and water will put the fire out. So I put it in the sink and turn the water on which starts to work then I grab the sprayer and finish it off.Needless to say I’m no longer going to eat my noodles tonight, but will sure enjoy a box of Girl Scout cookies tonight.Ps: I will buy these again. I love these noodles. But I won’t ever put them in the microwave again. Only giving 4 stars because it caught fire.
