NASCI 1000FC - 100% Satisfied!
NASCI 1000FC - Great reel in it's price point! I highly recommend this reel.Great cast-ability, smooth drag. Retrieve is nice and smooth. It performs like it should at this price point. I feel as though this is one of the best spinning reels I own. I'm not rich, so I can't go purchasing $200 plus spinning reels for all my rods. I do own a Shimano Stradic, which is why I purchased this one. $100 less! It didn't disappoint me at all! The Stradic is smoother, but it better be for $200! The NASCI is smooth and the drag worked great for me when a large and very aggressive crappie slammed my lure! (see pics. I included 2 of the larger crappie I've caught with it.) I've owned it for less than a month, so it hasn't gone through a tough season yet, but based on it's performance so far, I'm excited to fish it through the summer and fall. I have some Daiwa and Shimano spinning reels in the $60 - $90 range. I do feel that this is a bit smoother than the other Shimano's. The $20 upgrade from Sahara to Nasci was definitely worth it to me. I can also "feel" the increased quality from my Daiwa Regal's, although I have to give those Regal's a shout out. Super smooth for their price point. I've caught hundreds of crappie and brim with those 2 reels!

Real quality
When I returned to bass fishing I asked the guys at Bass Pro Shop what their best spinning reel under $100 was and they unanimously said Shimano NASCI series so I bought one size and loved it. Ever since them when I needed another size reel it was a no brainer. This one is for ultralight fishing and is just like the other ones, well made smooth as silk, no issues ever with this reel . Highly recommend it.

Best crappie reel I鈥檝e owned
This is by far the best reel I鈥檝e used to crappie fish! Smooth cast and perfect return well worth the money. I started with the FB model then once those were discontinued I switched to the FC and is just as pleasurable to use.

The Shimano Nasci is a Quality Spinner That Won't Break Your Wallet!
I got the 4K Nasci for shoreline jigging using 20-30g jigs. On a 8'6" to 9'9" MH spinning rod it really feels & handles good while casting. Was able to spool on a decent amount of 20lb braid on it. Planning on adding the 5K next so i can spool mono on that without risking too little yardage. This reel is a "slight" step below the Stradic. I already have 7 Stradics so was pleasantly surprised to feel the smoothness of this unit. I still have my older black Nasci of 7yr ago. That older model is also still going strong as well.

Stunning little reel.
Was in the market for an ultralight spinning reel, and I happened upon the name 'nasci'. Nosed around a bit, found it mentioned several times with generally good reviews, so I pulled the trigger and ordered one.Item was shipped promptly (3rd party seller) and arrived intact in a timely fashion. Spooled it up with 2 lb. test line, and took it out to play.First fish was a keeper largemouth bass. Next several were bluegill of decent sizes (one was my personal best) and finished up the day with a keeper smallmouth bass. Throughout, the nasci handled everything I threw at it with aplomb. Drag was silky smooth, likewise with reeling in. Weight is comparable with other reels in the same class, lays line very nicely, no line twist, and it of course took care of two keeper sized bass on its first outing.Only downside (at least at this point) is, put simply, the price. It's noticeably smoother than comparable Daiwas in the same class, but it also costs twice as much.Is it worth it? Frankly, it depends. Given my past experience with top tier Shimano gear (I have a Calcutta baitcaster that I haven't been able to kill in 30 years of ownership) it's quite likely to withstand treatment that lesser gear wouldn't be able to. That said, there are cheaper options out there that might serve as well with proper care. With that sole caveat, I give it my full recommendation.
