Incredible Fix for Pipe Leaks!
I bought the XFasten Self Fusing Silicone Tape for an emergency repair on a well pipe, and I’m absolutely impressed with how well it worked. The tape is super easy to apply—just wrap it around the leak, and it fuses to itself without the need for any adhesive. The tape creates a tight, waterproof seal that’s perfect for quick fixes like mine. It held up really well under pressure, and I’ve had no issues since applying it. The silicone material is durable and flexible, making it ideal for pipes that are exposed to water or extreme temperatures. It’s also very strong, so I’m confident this will last for a long time. For anyone needing an effective, reliable solution for emergency pipe repairs, this tape is a must-have. I’m definitely keeping it on hand for future repairs around the house! Pros: • Easy to apply, no adhesive needed • Creates a strong, waterproof seal • Works great for emergency pipe repairs • Durable and flexible silicone material • Reliable and long-lasting Cons: • None so far!

Works well for sealing amateur radio coax connectors
Works well to seal amateur radio coaxial connectors. The plastic case which comes with the tape should help the self adhering tape last longer, as this type of tape has a relatively short shelf life compared to standard electrical tape. When shelf life is exceeded, the tape will not stick to itself as well as when it is fresh. The clear color I chose makes it more useable in multiple applications without worrying about color mismatch.

A little frustrating to handle... but with a lot of layers... it finally worked
At first I was not impressed with this 1" x 36' XFasten brand self fusing clear waterproof silicone self amalgamating tape. The entire time I worked on applying the tape to the leaking "U" shaped P-trap pipe under my kitchen sink water kept slowly dripping. There was a little standing water in the P-trap that I couldn't remove. I did stop applying the tape after about 10 minutes of cutting and overlaying strips to give my arms and back a rest. A couple of hours later, I was back at layering and wrapping layers over the entire piece. I had to start up again the next morning as the wrapped pipe still felt like it was leaking and was a little damp. The tape is a little hard to start separating. Tip... leave a little length of the clear backing tape when you cut the silocone tape. That way, it'll be easier to pull them apart on your next pull. Also, the tape does stick to itself and IT DOES NOT easily pull apart as advertised... even two seconds after it touches itself, so I had to cut several pieces off the end of long cut pieces of tape that I was trying to wrap around the pipe. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!! I understood the directions. Pull the tape taut when applying it to the wet pipe making sure to overlap each wind of the tape on top of itself as the tape only sticks to itself. I never thought that I would need to use the entire 36' roll of tape to cover the one piece of pipe. Super bulky and excessive!!! By the next afternoon, the tape had finally set, the leaking had stopped... and it's been dry for over nine days.

No adhesive.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I like this tape much better than adhesive tapes. Because it has no adhesive it doesn't stick to parts that I'm trying to assemble, only to itself. Comes time to take it apart, no problem, cut the tape and it comes right off with no sticky residue on parts. Very stretchy lengthwise so it can bind like a rubber band. Does not instantly bond to itself. If you don't get it wrapped exactly the way you want, you have maybe 10 seconds to pull it apart and try again. Great for fixing tool handles, wrapping bicycle handlebars, etc. Provides a good grip area on baseball bats, tennis rackets, etc. I like this particular brand because it's clear and reasonably priced.

Good for fixing small holes in hoses
Used this to fix a hose with a small leak (pinhole) I did learn that you need to do a couple layers but not too many. Also covered it with regular electric tape which seemed to work better. I don't know that I'd use it for a larger hole/leak. Easy to wrap.

It works!
If you use enough and correctly , because it sticks to itself, has stopped a slow leak under my kitchen sink.

Do not think this product is a cure-all for a plumbing leak.
3rd Update (final): It doesn't do well on a wet surface with water shooting out but after the well company came and cut-off the joint next to the pump motor, I saw this 'X-Fasten Self Fusing Silicone Tape' didn't stand a chance. If you're interested in trying 'X-Fasten Self Fusing Silicone Tape' then buy the cheapest roll of Self Fusing Silicone Tape here on Amazon. If what your using it on is easily circled with the tape then maybe it's OK, it's impossible to keep the width of the Self Fusing Silicone Tape as needed if you can't make a easy circle around your project. I've tried this on 3 different projects and it was impossible to use without it narrowing down to 1/8" when stretching it around. Which is useless for any application! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd Update: I probably used 15' of the roll. Being the pressure gauge was in the way, I could never make a clean 360 degree turn around the pipe. The tape goes from a 1" width to a 1/8" with as you're trying to circle the leak. The 2nd picture shows the crack inside and it probably only had 10-15% of the 'X-Fasten Self Fusing Silicone Tape on it. I was also able to see how well made it was and how tight the fusion was. Trust me, after a lifetime of misusing and breaking things it's par for the course. 'Casey' (a Saint) from Clear Water Wells only charged me $34.00! There's still really nice people in the world that occasionally renews my faith. I still offer my limited help to anyone in need. I've already reviewed him twice online and texted him twice to tell him thanks from a lame old Viet Vet! >------------------------Original Review (below)---------------------------------> The product doesn't work well on semi-wet surfaces. It comes with ZERO instructions but it isn't rocket science. I looked at many YouTube videos. They even show one with a steady stream coming out of a PVC pipe with a pinhole leak. A steady stream coming out 36"s or so. Well, that was a set-up video with a leak in the middle of a long piece of copper pipe. No one sprouts holes in the middle of 6' of copper pipe without any joints. I'd like to invent a product to help other disgusted souls like me. I'm a old Viet Vet on borrowed time. My leak is where the PVC attaches to my wells metal 2 HP Pump. So, it's wet and under 50 PSI of pressure. YouTube videos can be a Godsend but for '(XFasten) Self Fusing Silicone Tape for Plumbing' you can view other brands for sale here too. So, if your surface is wet and not easily accessible (as you see my pressure gauge makes circling the joint impossible) by circling the Self Fusing Silicone Tape, then think twice about 'Self Fusing Silicone Tape' working at all. After Katrina (almost 20 years ago) I replaced the whole well after it was flooded and crushed by a old Oak tree. Because there was no one in the well business for repairs within 6-9 month timespan but you can't live without water! Evidently, this minor repair is beyond my current skillset. I went by the outstanding reviews and should know nothing in life is easy. It's hard getting well repairmen to show-up. If it wasn't for my loving wife of 55 years I'd give up trying to maintain my house nightmare. I guess I have to trudge on for her. There's dozens of YouTube videos on 'Self Fusing Silicone Tape', the 'Self Fusing' is slightly a fallacy. The 4 1/2 out of 5 stars are not from old men like me with my leak problem. Even a slow leak on a joint is not easily wrapped doesn't go well. Ignore the part that says 'Self Fusing' because it's not exactly accurate. Unless under ideal conditions! Sorry, if this review bursts your bubble!

Great product. Works perfect.
Great product. Works perfect. Nice that it is a bit wider than most tapes of this kind.

Handy and good quality
Great to have around the house. Not the cheapest in this product category, but silicon tape quality seems good and spindle with lid gives proper feel.

Decent price, quality and quantity -- 1001 Uses!
Great self-fusing silicone tape for so many uses both indoors and outdoors, including sports grips, sealing joints on eavestrough downspouts or sectioned metal broom handles, adding a slightly grippy or protective wrap to tool handles of all sorts (incl hairdryer), and a quick semi-permanent fix for a leaking plumbing pipe or even a cracked vacuum cleaner hose, for instance. I like that it withstands hot and cold temperatures and that it can be removed without leaving a glue residue. If your looking for standard electrical tape or a sticky type of tape, this is not it. It's also not for use on fabric type textiles or anything with loose, flaky, dusty debris. This fusion tape was a decent price for the quantity. It works as intended when used and stored correctly. I like that the roll comes in a see-through storage box. Bought 2 different colours -- Yellow and black. Should last me quite some time.

Heat proof isolation tape
I used this tape to make my smart candle bulbs a little more quiet. The idea was to isolate the glass from the shade that is supported by metal wire. I hope they will transfer to any following bulbs but these usually last a lifetime. You just need to make it long enough to cover the area of contact and then stretch the tape to overlap a short distance to make it bond.
