Worked for me!
I needed something to replace the straps on my birkenstocks. They weren't worn out but I accidentally bought vegan uppers which means PLASTIC. Plastic makes blisters, blisters make scabs, pain and suffering ensues. Anyway...I have a bunch of upholstery leather from years of that type of work. It was all pretty thin for shoes though. This leather is way thicker than that! It's not something I'd make a belt out of, at least not a single thickness but it's great for shoes! I'd add a pic of my birks but they are gluing at the moment. Due to my innovating and amazing redneck skills, they are wrapped in yarn holding together while I pray the glue sets. The piece I got was rolled nicely and had no creases. There was a small surface scuff but it wasn't anything deep and will go away in time or with more oil. It looks like the picture and seems to be pretty even thickness to me. Nothing hairy on the back or wrinkled, we used to call those pieces armpits and elbows, just where the animal had creases. This piece was soft and smooth and looks like nice flat hide. I have enough left after fixing this pair that I could fix probably another whole pair of sandals. Can't beat the price either. I'm happy and would order again if I needed more. I'm hoping this lasts a while! Lol

Great for strops!
I needed some thick full grain leather for making a couple of strops to keep woodworking tools sharp. Gluing this down to a piece of plywood was exactly what I needed. The rough side takes polish compound very well, and some hide glue on the smooth side adhered it nicely to the plywood. It can easily be cut to size with a sharp knife. It's good, thick leather and should last me as long as I can hold a chisel.

Good quality
Quality was good, just as expected.

Thick material. No leather expert.
Thick material. Seems heavy duty. Purchased to put on pocket corners of his contractor jeans to help keep them from fraying because of the clips on tools that he uses. Color in pictures is accurate. Does mark when folded but that is irrelevant in my particular application.

Quality leather!
Nice piece of quality leather. Purchased this item for a special project, which may or may not work out. No problem though, the price was good.Update:Purchased two more pieces. My project worked out but needs a little refining. I am using this leather to line the inside of kydex gun holsters. Steel framed guns can get marks on the finish from the harder kydex holsters.Prior to making the holster, I glue the leather to the kydex. Then heat and form. The process can be a little tricky, but my prototype worked out really well.

Not tooling leather. Inaccurate listing. Still usable for crafts.
The leather is fine for crafting bags, pouches, bracelets and other projects that will not be tooled or it doesn't matter if it stretches. Despite the title, you can not tool this leather. Oil tanned leather is chrome tanned leather treated with oils and waxes afterwards. Chrome tanned leather can not be tooled because it is soft and pliable. This stuff has its place, but the seller has no idea what they are selling.

Great leather
I’ll continue buying as long as they have it. Hopefully they give a full hide option sometime in the future
