Good fish- good price
Tonight on the gulf coast of Alabama with temperatures at 85°F or more today and a whopping 95% humidity I was going to open a can of Mina's and enjoy the goodness straight out of the can without any prep time. I had cut extra vegetables this morning and decided to cook the asparagus tomato onion and sweet bell peppers for 4 min. Well I went this far so I took another 4 min. To cook some ramen noodles. What a great simple meal it was. I was thinking about this review and thought mina's are Moroccan. I read the box and saw in print the exact words that I was thinking to describe this fish: " ...our sardines are artisanally prepared and packed in EVOO. The result is a tender mild sardine with a delicate taste of the sea." I concur 100%. The very good medium bodied oil has nutty overtones as well Total prep and clean-up time was about 13 minutes yet 1 hr. after enjoying my meal I've got a smile on my face and a full tummy. So good was the meal I topped it off with a spoonful of almond butter and a little raw local honey. Life is good! Thankyou all the dedicated Mina persons who did their part to make this can of sardines for me a very pleasurable eating experience. People pick up some cans for yourself and enjoy the taste sensations. Greybeard

Very good
My reason for buying bulk packs of sardines online is that I'm trying to add sardines as a dietary staple due to the health benefits. Because of that, the sardines i buy need to meet a few criteria. 1) they must have skin and bones 2) they must be packaged in olive oil 3) they must be affordable 4) they should taste good 5) they should not be extremely high in sodium Initially, i was using Chicken of the Sea sardines in olive oil. Those come in an 18 pack and are slightly cheaper. However i noticed that while these come in a 12 pack, they are much closer in price than i originally thought. These Mina sardines have double the protine content per can than the COS brand. They also have much lower sodium, especially when compared to the protine content. I can reasonably satisfy myself with one can of these, whereas the COS brand needed 2 cans. I think if your looking for a healthy supply of sardines that isn't going to break the bank, this is the best value. I do like the flavor of these sardines, but they are very large fish with a solid texture. The bones have a fair amount of crunch to them. I know some people prefer the smaller delicate style like you get with Brisling sardines. These are not like that. They are much closer to Wild Planet sardines in terms of size. I think the oil tastes better in these Mina sardines than Wild Planet personally. For now, these are going to be my go to brand. I may treat myself to something a bit pricier on occasion for the more gourmet style, but I don't think I'll be able to beat these for value.

Tasty sardines, best in category
Sardines in tins come in all shapes and tastes, and this Mina brand is among the best I have tasted--but short of the experience produced by sardines on the grill just after they have been fished out of the Mediterranean... But I digress... Anyway, to increase my protein/omega 3 intake, I bought a couple of cans at my local grocery store and after they passed the tasting exam, I decided to go the the twelve pack. They are soaked in olive oil, they come small/medium size and there's no need to peel scales or remove bones. Did I say bang for the buck? If I stick to my protein/omega 3 regimen, I will likely go for the automatic subscription. Peel the cover and enjoy!!!

Good sardines
These are really good sardines. They are caught off the coast in Morocco, whis is not too far away from Portugal, so basically the same region of the Atlantic ocean. They are good sized, probably considered medium, and have a nice texture to them. They are not mushy, and the bones were soft. I did not see any scales on the 2 tins that I have tried, and both of those had 4 fish in each. If there are bigger ones, then there may only be 3 instead. Time will tell. I will come back as I open more tins. The olive oil actually good. Some sardine tins have a light olive oil, but this is dark in color with a rich taste. Overall a good combo of olive oil and sardines. Not the best, but still good and from the same area of ocean where the good portuguese sardines are taken from.

I eat them every day!
I've ordered at least 51 times, so my review might be a bit overdue. BUT! At this point I can sure tell you a thing or two about these little fishies. Firstly, they're the tastiest sardines I've tried. If you order them in extra virgin olive oil, just add salt and they're ready for chow time. I like the smell too, but my mother hates it, which makes me like it even more because it's another thing I can tease her with. Also, the cans are easy to open and usually have enough fish inside. I took a star off the rating because the packaging could be much, MUCH better. Many of the cans have been dented, and some so deeply that I wouldn't trust them. Then there's that one time Mina sent me a batch that leaked and had white stuff growing on one of the boxes, which might be the most disgusting thing I've ordered from Amazon. But other than that, they've been great. No problems with returning or exchanging, and shipping is almost always fast enough for me to keep my pantry stocked. This is my #1 sardine brand and I have another order coming today! Give them a try! Update: I bumped the rating up to 5 stars because the packaging is much better now!!

They do not compare that well to Wild Planet Wild Sardines
I had previously bought 12 tins of Wild Planet Wild Sardines based on reviews and was very pleased. Decided to try these, too, based on reviews and bought 12 tins. They aren’t bad. A bit larger than most canned sardines which some may prefer but the taste isn’t as good as Wild Planet’s. Bones are larger in these. Skin tends not to be intact. Good value for the money.

Can’t believe I actually LIKE sardines since discovering the Mina Sarfindined in EVOO.
Wanting sardines in my eating routine at this point of my life is mind blowing.🤯 I am telling everyone I know about THESE sardines! 👍👍👍👍👍 I am in my 60’s and have NEVER eaten sardines because my entire life’s experience of them has always been repulsive! Just the thought of sardines would send a wave of nausea to my stomach, due to the very pungent, unpleasant, disgusting, extreme fishy smell. Well, I needed to shake up my metabolism and desperately wanted to give the 72 hour sardines (only) challenge a try. This desperation led me to the discovery of these particular sardines. I purchased a pack of 12, with fingers crossed, I opened the first can, and I didn’t get knocked over from an overwhelming, disgusting fishy smell. Instead, I was surprised and in disbelief that the sardines were mild (understatement), and there were 3 large sardines stuffed inside the can. Long story short…..they made my 72-hour sardine challenge so easy. The sardine challenge really worked, and now I actually crave these sardines even though the 72-hour challenge is over. My absolute favorite way to prepare them is to dump the sardines and all the EVOO into a skillet, add some Himalayan pink salt and a generous amount of Mrs. Dash seasoning, push them and flip them around till they are a little crispy and the seasoning gets crunchy. I slide them out of the skillet onto a plate and make sure to top them off with all the little crispies. They are so delicious and sometimes I squeeze a little mustard over them. I’m amazed! No one could have ever convinced me I would like sardines EVER. These sardines are AWESOME, due to their MILD smell & flavor, their freshness, and the oil is extra virgin olive oil…..instead of other oils in some other brands that are unhealthy and inflammatory. Wanting sardines in my life after all my years is mind blowing. I keep telling all my friends about these fantastic sardines! 👍👍👍👍👍

Meaty sardines
The sardines are nice and meaty. Very mild in taste. They make a tasty addition to salads and definitely can be eaten plain for a snack or a meal.
