These thistle socks seem very sturdy and would not fall apart easily. My last thistle sock was starting to get holes in it just from wear and tear from the birds getting the thistle. I don't know if these socks have smaller holes which makes it harder for the birds to get the seed but they do not seem to be eating from this sock. Don't know if this is due to the weather getting colder and the birds migrating, meaning fewer birds? May take down this sock and put another one up to do an experiment. Will update review if necessary.

The feed socks are good for yards with large flocks of goldfinches with big appetites

Bought one year ago. We have goldfinches, house finches and purple finches that return daily and feed happily from these socks. The material of the socks themselves is fine and they have withstood many washes. The birds have to put more time and effort into extracting seed from these than they did with other socks we have used but we also seem to end up with less waste on the ground (there is still some, just not as much). The weak point of this product is that the drawstrings all broke really easily. We still use the socks themselves, but have had to replace the drawstrings with old shoelaces.

The socks for feeding finches that we received were wonderful, and it came with a convenient filler which I can really appreciate after spilling half of the seed on the ground trying to fill the socks. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching the finches feed off the sock they seem to love it.

I purchased a similar bag feeder at the local hardware store and the finches loved it. When those wore out, I purchased these feeder bags, even after reading the negative reviews. These feeder bags are very sturdy and look very much like the ones I purchased at the local hardware store. Unfortunately the birds/finches don't love them. They land occasionally, but seem to struggle to get the seeds out. I even tried poking bigger holes. Not sure what it is about the bags that the birds are not thrilled with.

The mesh socks are great. Sturdy and allows for no waste. MANY OTHER BRANDS WASTE SEED FOR THE REASON TO BUY MORE SEED!These finch sock feeders are the best on the market because it doesn’t waste seed !!! This will be my fourth time buying from this company and I will keep buying from them!

These finch sox are made very well; however, the netting has holes that are too small for the finch to remove the Nyjer seed. If the holes were the tiniest bit larger, they would be a great buy.

GOOD QUILTY MATERIALS ,HARD TO FIND THESE IN ANY STORES ,,GREAT FINDING THESE AND DELIVERED TO MY DOOR // HARD TO BEAT THAT.

So far so good. Time will determine the durability.
