Routledge Facilities Management Handbook

I think this book would be an excellent addition to any facility manager in England (5 stars). It is written and published for the British market and details all the UK's rules, procedures and laws. However, not so much for the U.S. market. Although some of the working lists relate,it isn't enough to buy it in the United States. Almost half the book details all the different laws and rules used in the UK. Worthless for the U.S. facility manager. Bottom line. If your in England buy the book but if your in the U.S. I wouldn't.

This book is an excellent resource for anyone starting or already in the Facilities Management sector. I'm a Facilities Administrator and this book is a perfect reference tool that can easily be used daily to top up your knowledge on a particular subject quickly and easily. For example some things I've recently used it for are: office lighting levels, Portable Appliance Testing, desk/office move planning and of course the all important H&S regs. *shudder*If you are expecting to sit down and read this book from front to back then this may not be the right book for you because it isn't laid out in that way. I personally found it better to read the introduction then skip to the sections that I was interested in reading as it really is more of a reference book. However with that said you could read it the whole way through but you will find that there is so much information contained within each section that you will only end up going back to a topic when you need the information.The information in the book is excellent and has plenty of links to further resources for you to go off and explore. I highly recommend for anyone that's in a Facilities role be it an assistant or a manager.

This is a must have for those in this profession. It highlights areas that may be missed or not covered in the correct detail required. I come from a military background and found this book very informative and easy to use.

I love this book I brought it nearly four years ago and I still use it now; it is a brillant reference guide.
