My favorite controller so far, but the LED is way too bright.
Before I go onto the full review I have to say one thing specifically to Hyperkin : PLEASE DIFFUSE THE LED, its very bright and can get annoying if you play at night or in the dark, I actually sanded the led down on my own at my own risk to diffuse it because it was just too bright on its own... anyways onto the review.I got this controller specifically because it reminded me so much of the SNES controller, the SNES controller is my all time favorite except that it lacks analog sticks and extra triggers that most games today use.So right of the bat I have to say I absolutely love the size of it, it just feels perfect, I can see how some people with bigger hands could have some trouble with this but for me its just a perfect fit! The analog sticks feel nice and smooth, a nice crisp click when you push them down is really nice too, the bumpers are alright, the feel too tactile personally, the triggers feel very strange, they sort of feel like what the bumpers should feel like but x10 mushier, it takes quite the time to get used to them, they also sort of feel like they will be the first things to break if you mash them really hard. The cable is huge, its really long, also not sure why the end is removable, but It probably would be best if instead of being this type of cable it was a removable micro usb or even usb type c, that way you could have a variable cable length or even use a better cable. Now like I mentioned above at the very top the led is very, very bright, its glaring and probably one of my least favorite things on it unless your willing to go the extra mile by opening the controller up and sanding the led with high grid sand paper to diffuse it, or better yet replace it with a already diffused one, other solutions that are uglier involve taping over the led or using a marker (please don't).The D-pad is a very strange one, if your going to use this for emulation make sure you enable and map the diagonal inputs (snes9x) so the D-pad works like a actual D-Pad, otherwise just use the stick, personally I think its alright, its not the best thing ever but it feels better than the extremely tactile one on the Xbox One controller. The buttons I'm also mixed about, on one side they feel great and I love the feel of it, on the other the buttons casing feels thick and clunky its hard to describe but basically they feel tall or something like that. The last thing that bugs be button wise is the Xbox button, its probably the cheapest looking thing on the controller, honestly they should of stuck the led under that or something.Overall I love this controller and would gladly recommend it to anybody who is looking for a smaller controller, a modern alternative to the SNES controller or just anyone looking for a controller in general. Also there better be a V2, an updated design like the new Xbox controller, bluetooth, removal micro/type c usb, if that happens its a day one buy from me.

To be frank, quite dank!
Build quality was good and ergonomically it was good albeit a tad small. Initially, it didn't work on my Linux PC so I assumed it was broken. Turns out it was a problem with the drivers. This will work on Xbox and Windows 10 out of the box and on Linux with a driver patch. Android does not support it yet.

Best controller for this price point, still not great, good 3.5/5. *nitpicking ahead, ye be warned*
Overall this controller doesn't meet all my expectations, but it met most of them, which is a lot more than the previous two I've tried (especially for this price point, anything better goes up to double the $). Everything started out good but hit a pothole on the d-pad. 3 of the 4 directions are good, but the right direction for some reason takes about 2-3x more force than the others which throws me off when trying not to push the button into the housing. Not a deal-breaker but an annoyance in use. It hit another pothole on the wrong press/wrong input front. When using as much force as previous, it tends to not like rocking my thumb from direction to direction and, seemingly out of protest?, starts moving my in-game character down and up seemingly at random when pressing left and right (for 2D games here). THAT was the deal breaker in daily use. Last nitpick is the levers. They feel squishy like squeezing down on firm rubber bands or something. Perfectly functional, just not nice to press. The entire rest of the controller was great. A/B/X/Y buttons are what you'd expect and the analog sticks are far better than I'd expect, though I bet they're hard to get wrong. Option/menu buttons, same.

Flawed but still excellent retro controller
Pros:Analogue sticks are smooth and tight, a bit shorter length would make for better analogue button presses, well as better control.XYBA buttons also feel great but could be depressed into the controller a bit more. Maybe, some dim led underneath the buttons might be a nice aesthetic. The price and build quality are top-notch, although it could use slightly more weight.Cons:The controller could use a 10-15% size increase, as well as bigger grips with some rubber strips to keep the hands in place better. As it stands, only kids and people with feminine hands like myself will find it comfortable. The controller cord could use a foot of length removed as it is much too long right now.The select and start buttons need to be moved about a cm apart from the Xbox button.Move the left and right buttons down by 2 cms and make the LT & RT angled down, removing the pointy lips it has right now making them more buttons, then trigger like. Also, make them feel less springy. It feels strange and oddly fragile.Get rid of the ultra-bright white LED that you have placed in the centre of the controller, and place a dim green LED inside the Xbox button instead. You could call this revision the X-91 S Edition.Update: 8-16-2020I've had a chance to use the controller for a number of days now, and it seems to be holding up well, especially the L&R triggers which initially concerned me due to their springiness. The D-pad was initially not as responsive as I would like but once it loosened up a bit, it worked perfectly fine. The same for the XYAB buttons and select/start buttons. The controller is well suited for emulators, RPGs, tactical style games, adventure games and such. I would, however not recommend this to anyone who plays a lot of first-person shooters. Third-person shooters might be fine but I suspect it wasn't intended for the shooter audience anyway.

Its a Great, Long Lasting Controller.
Pros-It's small and portable. It's very nice looking. It works.Cons-The triggers are stiff. This is a great product. 1 year of heavy use with my computer and it works like new. The only complaint I have would be the stiff triggers, but it's not made for shooters. I use the controller in many games, and it helps me come in first. Would buy from the seller again!

Nice but meh
I like the retro look and feel of the controller, I found a few issues with the model. When having to hold the back triggers and press X, your fingers slide right into the start button because there's no bevel or groove, as well as the directional pad. The Lb+Rb bugg out when pressed together and you need to restart the controller periodically.
