Does this cause the bug to disintegrate?

Depends on bugs size but it most flying insects the size of house fly or bigger will be burned to a crisp anything smaller at times may pass thru the net but when contact is made it will certainly disintegrate said bug hope this answers your question

How long does charge last? I charged overnite and getting nothing .

The one we received had a charge right out of the box. We charged overnight but don't yet know how long the charge lasts.

Has anybody's worked over one year?

Mine is still going strong after about 8 years. I have the 3500V medium size racket that uses replaceable or rechargeable AA batteries. Either type lasts a long time in the zapper. I'm going to get an additional, mini size 4000V model (more Voltage is better, right?), which will be easier to use in interior areas like the kitchen and adjacent electronics area that are full of equipment, cabinets, furniture etc. to avoid while on the hunt. The larger old zapper will stay in the bedroom. I love these things. Every "ZAP" is a satisfying payoff of sorts, that other folks feel as well -- honest. I may be mentally ill (which is true), but at least I'm not alone :-). It's a very cool product.

I see that they consider this a travel size. I want to buy it for everyday use. Is it big enough for that or should I get the regular size?

It is big enough for everyday use, but I would've preferred the regular one, as it has a longer handle.

The flies don't stand a chance.

PROS: Powerful! Recharges quickly. Really gets the job done. CONS: Scares the bageezus out of my dogs. So I usually put them in the bedroom while I'm doing the fly massacre. 🪰🪰🪰 😂

Actually works—and it’s surprisingly fun

This doesn't feel like cheap plastic toys that breaks the third time you swing it. This one is different. Right out of the box, you can tell the build quality is sturdy; it has some actual weight to it and doesn't flex when you're hunting down a fast-moving target. The USB recharging is a huge win. There’s nothing more annoying than needing to zap a mosquito only to realize your AA batteries are dead. As for performance, it works incredibly well. It delivers a satisfying pop that lets you know the job is done. Honestly, it’s become a bit of a game for me and it’s very entertaining to defend the patio and zap the bugs that were otherwise planning to eat me alive.
