my 24v dc controller controls direction of motors by reversing the 24v dc. will this unit accept this signal & reverse direction?

The 24V supply to the motor driver cannot be reversed. This will burn the motor driver as it doesn't have reverse polarity protection.However, the DIR input pin can be used to control the motor direction.
