Question 1

i have a 90 year old house with a leaking 4" black iron main stack (vertical pipe) that is leaking.   How well will this tape repair this pipe?

So-called Repair Tape will not stick to the black iron pipe; it only sticks to itself.  Consequently, it will not seal the pipe.  Use J-B Weld 8277 WaterWeld Underwater Epoxy Putty or equivalent.  Note the "Underwater" designation.  It will set underwater, so it should seal the pipe, even if it is wet.  (A dry repair is better.)

Question 2

Do we need to stick like sticker or we need to heat and paste in pipes?

It's not sticky the way you think of tape being. As you wrap it around something you need to stretch it and overlap it onto itself. It fuses together when stretched and overlapped. The more you stretch it the tighter it binds to itself. I have fixed a lot of things with this tape. The most surprising fix was on a hard line from my power steering pump to piston that made the wheels turn. Power steering fluid was under a lot of pressure and the fix sealed the crack in the pipe and lasted for several years until I sold the car.

Question 3

How removavble is the product? If you have to break that leaking pipe and repair it does the product come off cleanly again?

You know, I obviously haven't tried that...but it does appear to me that it would be very easy to remove even if you had to cut it with a razor blade.  This is a good product...I used it to stop a pinhole leak in my bathroom shower pipe that was driving me nuts.  It's been on it now since the date I received it and still is working like a charm--I think it's a pretty permanent fix to my problem.

Question 4

Will this handle a leak on a household water line?  I have a small drip in a joint.  Seems like this might be just the thing to fix it.

I think it will do the job, however, I used it in emergencies only until I can get the problem fully repaired. I did use it for a water leak on my motor home that had about 50 psi on it and it worked fine but I did replace the part at a later date.
