Easy to use, precise results.
The item arrived promptly, exactly as described. The test instructions are simple to understand, even though the English is a bit stilted. The results are far more precise than what I needed for my purposes, but the results are easy to determine and interpreted in the instructions. Everything included to test over one hundred samples. Good for aquariums, ponds, reef systems, or teaching students basic chemistry.

This test is great. Much much much more accurate than my API ...
This test is great. Much much much more accurate than my API alkalinity test. Pretty easy to administer the test, as well. To use this test you inject the reagent into the water sample and then once it changes colors you use the numbers on the syringe to determine how much reagent is left, and then use this to get your readings. This leads to my only beef with this product... The numbers on the syringe are badly wearing off after maybe 5 tests (I can BARELY get a good reading, and i know after a few more uses it'll be useless. I ordered more syringes for like 2 bucks off amazon so i'm not all that upset, but when you combine this with the fact that i can't figure out how to get a hold of the company, that's a definite 1-star deduction. In the future i'll be getting a hanna checker, but if you're looking for a low cost way to get AK readings, this is a great option. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and don't even both with API for this particular test.

Best test kits on the market.
Salifert had issues in the past, which they addressed. The Salifert tests are now top of the market for ease of use, accuracy, and speed. They also contain a vial of calibration fluid which will enable you to check your kit if you feel the need. As with all test kits, check the expiration date. Use this in combination with the magnesium and calcim test kits. If these three readings are held in recommended balance, the water chemistry will stay proper for marine fish and corals.

Stop buying bad test kits, get one of these
Alkalinity is one of (if not the most) important parameters to keep in check within a reef tank. Don't mess around with the lives of your animals, get a test kit you can rely on. I used to use the API test kits, but now will use Salifert exclusively. These kits are great, they're all really straightforward in operation and reading. From the moment you start testing, you can tell there is quality to this kit

The ONLY Alk (KH) Test Kit I'd recommend!
As a long time professional aquarist, I've used everything under the sun in terms of test kits. While others may offer a more economic price point, the Salifert KH kit is extremely easy to use and (more importantly) extremely accurate. With so many variables in keeping a saltwater aquarium, knowing your Alkalinity is of upmost importance and this kit provides an effortless way to test dKH. Tip: For best results, always follow the instructions exactly as they are written and be sure to rinse/dry after each use!
