OVERALL: I purchased this for travel, but I'm tempted to just toss the other shaving puck to just use this from hereon out. Here's why: - Dense velvety lather happens instantly. - This particular type of moisture provides a better glide of the blade + non-greasy soft and nourished skin. - Scent is just enough and not too much; it offers a clean scent that is pleasant and doesn't linger. More observations are listed below :) SCENT: This smells clean (not any red flags, not cheap vanilla, not fruity, not like candy, and not like a flowery 90 year old woman). The scent won't be noticeable throughout the day. This will not make one's nose run, as there is nothing chemical about this scent. This product isn't trying desperately to cover up someone's stink. Avoid if each product you put on your body needs to hide a multitude of bad life choices and stench / body odor ... or choose to not be a stinker and clean up your life (that last choice is highly preferred for those of us who may use elevators with you from time to time). LATHER: This provides an instant luxurious thick robust lather (no just flimsy bubbles) without much effort; it's day and night compared to the other vegan and non-tallow shaving soaps I've used. This gives my razor a better glide on the skin even with a heavy hand, it seemed to be impossible to nick myself when shaving with this. MOISTURE: This definitely left more moisture on my legs without needing as much lotion. Yeah! PACKAGING: The container is a plastic screw top with the shaving soap poured into the container, so it would not be super easy to transfer this to an aluminum shaving tin. but it would be possible. The container is fine and I think I'll keep it, as it's easy for travel. SOAP FORM: The shave soap is not a puck, but poured and cooled in the screw-top plastic container. Initially this made me purchase another option, but I decided that this could be my travel shave soap and pulled the trigger. One could probably find a way to dislodge this from the container if it mattered enough and they were tenacious.

I picked this up to restock my shaving kit, and I am really impressed. The first thing you notice is the scent it smells fantastic, a classic clean barbershop aroma that isn't overpowering. Performance-wise, it lathers up incredibly quickly. I’ve used a lot of traditional tallow barber soaps in the past, and this one honestly lasts longer than any of them. You don't need much product to get a rich, protective foam. Pro Tip: To get the best results, you really gotta use this with a badger shaving brush. It whips up the lather perfectly.

Quickly forms a creamy, lubricating lather for a smooth, comfortable shave. The only complaint is the scent isn't quite what I expected. Rather than a clove-scented bay rum, its base scent is more anise / licorice-like. It doesn't smell bad -- its simply different the 'traditional' bay rum scent (Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum, etc).

This is the nostalgic barbershop smell! It’s great! But, that is second place to the lather. The lather is top tier! None better! 10/10!

I love this shaving soap. It has a tallow base, and contains glycerin and shea butter. It provides a very smooth shave ... and it smells very good without being obnoxious.

I originally bought the bay rum scented. While the shave is great there’s nowhere in this universe that that smells like bay rum. Recently, I tried the sandalwood and it’s really disappointing. The smell ranges from nothing to household cleaner. I think the product could be five stars if there was just someone who can create better scents. Shaving with a shaving brush and shaving soap is an aesthetic experience. I’m not going to order this product again.

This is real nice shaving soap. The soap suds last on your face and or head until you complete your shave and have a refreshing smell. I like it.
