I like the portability and could be handy in certain situations - but I found it takes for ever to syphon water after heavy rain in my boat I ended up bailing it by hand with a 5-gallon bucket a lot quicker - quite handy for a small dinghy or smaller amounts - in a real emergency I would use a proper bilge pump - not used it for transferring fuel yet but I worried it might affect the plastic and would probably need rinsing with water after

Good price at £17.99 and really does syphon fast. Whilst I have not measured the 2.2 gallon per minute claim it is very believable as it it runs like a garden hose when switched on. Comes fully assembled with an additional part not shown in the listing. It does not directly fit on any part I can find. It has a connector on that looks a bit like a hose lock and there is a lever that is squeezed to release liquid. If I get around to updating this review, will upload a picture. Recommend this as a good budget syphon pump.Update, the unknown part is actyshown on the box and is called a flow control nozzle. Looks like the nozzle in a petrol station used to fill up but made of plastic. Picture also shows it in a petrol tank hole.

Stopped working after I used it twice

I bought this to bale out excess water that collects in plant pot saucers in the garden after the all too many downpours that our changing climate now bestows on us. This pump is ideal for that purpose as it light enough to use without too much effort and yet is sufficiently powerful to do the job quickly. It seems to be well made and thus far is standing up to it's task without any apparent problem.

Had it for just under 10 months . LIked everything about it then suddenly during use the switch broke and the thing is now useless. Will probably buy another or similar as they are cheap.

Very easy to use and effective

Really good pump, it works as it should.Only issue for me is it could have been about 25-30mm longer to get to the bottom of a 25 litre drum.
