Great sound great show
Everything was bad ass about this cd but the inker messed up and printed side 2 on side 1 and side 1 on 2 - other than that it's great a little different without Duane and Dicky doing all the guitar work- get it- Allmans for life

the band decided to do what they do best and hit the road again
Regrouping after the tragic death of co-founder Duane Allman, six months previously, the band decided to do what they do best and hit the road again. This is a really fine album, a 'grey release' certainly, but a full-on balls-out concert, recorded for posterity by a local radio station. Kicking off with their standard opener at the time 'Statesboro Blues', the band rip through some of the tracks from their first two albums, finishing off the first cd with an intense version of 'You Don't Love Me', 15 minutes of superlative playing. An excellent 'Liz Reed' starts the second cd, then a short but heartfelt 'Midnight Rider' leads into 'Whippin' Post' a twenty minute barnstorming finisher. A wonderful, wonderful concert, made even better by the band's refusal to give up and get back to playing. Dickey plays out of his skin, if you didn't know the songs originally featured two guitars, you wouldn't realise it, such is the power and versatility of his playing.A relatively short concert by their standards, slightly less than 90 minutes [48 + 38 minutes], but packed with emotion. I'm not sure if there was more to this concert than was broadcast, there's a fade-out and a moment's silence just before 'Whippin' Post' but it might just be how it was.Lastly, like the previous reviewer[?] my cds were printed wrongly [cd 1 shown as cd 2 and vice versa] but unlike the previous reviewer, I'm not going to knock off two, - yes, two, stars because of it. I mean to say, what?Anyway, buy this historic broadcast with confidence, it's a cracker.
