The Artistic Genius Of Louis Wain

I had recently learned of Louis Wain and was excited to buy this book as a gift for my sister. It is very sparse on his artwork and the text looks to be lifted from a wikipedia article. There are a bunch of old cat photographs thrown in a filler. i was hoping to see more Wain drawings and painting. This "book" is more like a pamphlet and not worth the money.

$25 dollars for this? Undersaturated art with mediocre text all on flimsy, low quality stock. I'd rate it slightly better than a coloring book in overall presentation. One star is generous. Probably sending it back.

Probably like you, we got introduced to Louis Wain via the peculiar little movie on TV with Benedict Cumberbatch, and we were charmed by his cat pictures (who wouldn't be). This is a very agreeable book with some pretty good text and a lot of reproductions of Wain's cat paintings. Charming.
