Q: I'm looking for scratchers that don"t have catnip...are these catnip free?

The catnip is attached. It's in a small plastic bag. I simply remove it. My cat doesn't care for catnip.

Q: Do you leave all 4 scratching pads in the box or just 1 at a time? If only 1 at a time, then it would be below the top of the box.

Use one first then flip it then turn it from the bottom up that way you use the whole thing.

Q: Does anyone have a problem with these falling apart fast & leave shredded card board all over the floor

Mine didn't fall apart and I have 3 cats and yes you'll see cardboard pieces that's normal.

Q: How do I get replacement cardboard inserts?

I don’t believe replacements are available. I just buy a new box.
