Polly Plastics Rock Tumbler Tumbling Media Grit Kit & Plastic Filler Pellets

I am EXTREMELY new to rock tumbling. This is working great so far! The picture with the bigger container is the plastic and the container with the number 3 is the size of the powder. I definitely think I will be purchasing this again. The plastic pieces are smaller than i had imagined, but they have held up just fine to be re-used. They stained after 1 week of tumbling no matter how much I rinsed them, but it doesn't seem to affect the quality of the powders.

We started tumbling last year and purchased a tumbler from Harbor Freight. While we were there, we purchased a powder starter kit that they had on the shelves. We thoroughly read the instructions and at the end of the process, found some of our rock had scratches in them. All of the rock that were used were the same hardness. We checked for waste after the first and second steps, but still had scratches all over the rocks in the final step. We ordered this product primarily because it came with the poly plastic filler and could recycle the filler for later use on the same steps instead of finding our own smaller rock filler. Not only did the plastic filler make the rocks more smooth, we felt that the quality of the powder was much better that the sample box we bought at harbor freight! We will be sticking to this product from here on out.

I tried to use mine on polymer clay. They didn't come out shinny at all. Maybe I did something wrong? They did work on my rocks, tho they weren't as shinny as I thought they should be. I ended up using renaissance wax and my dremel to buff to a shine.

Great product, comes in easy to store plastic containers.

I really liked this for tumbling it was cleaner and easy to use. it didn't get the rocks as shiny but I might not have used enough of the final grit and that of course would be my own fault. I really love the fact you can reuse the pellets.

I just received my first tumbler for Christmas 2018, my husband purchased extra grit from Poly Plastics to get me started. Then I purchased more as I have years of rock hounding I want polished. I'm a Jewelry Designer, so most of what I'm polishing will be used in my jewelry making, and as specimens. I have a lot to learn, but so far I've done 2 batches all the way through the 4 cycles, and am happy with most of the results. I do have some, that just are not polishing, even after cleaning and running through the polish cycle again. But, I'm positive it's because I am learning how long to run the cycles for different stones and hardness's.

Great product. Lots of grit for many sets of rocks. Love the plastic balls, they decreased the noise of the tumbler tremendously, and the rocks come out a lot smoother and with less scratches

Good price, shipping a bit slow but exactly what is needed for polishing rocks in a tumbler.

The filler really helps protect my sea glass from chipping or bruising in the tumbler. It also REALLY helps minimize noise :) If I had my time back, I would have only ordered course grit for tumbling glass because I really like the frosted look.

I tried walnut shells but this is way, way better.
